Jazz One's Favorite Jazz Song

I just wanna to take the time and talk about a piece Jazz One played. A piece called Buffalo Breath by Bob Secor, arranged by Larry Norred. This funk tune was a favorite of all of ours. It featured main soloists: Trumpet's very own, Brent "Splanky" Delanoy and of course the loveable (but some how odd) *cue audible aggreement* John Tegmeyer on Tenor. They both did excellent jobs on solos. But enough about them. The Jazz band did excellent. (as they always do).

A little while back the Jazz band played at New Mexico State University at the Jazz festival. We played "Dindi" (Gingee) [Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Words by Ray Gilbert, Arranged by Rob McConnell], "A Time For Love" [Composed by Johnny Mandel and P. F. Webster, Arranged by Hank Levy], and "Day In, Day Out" [Words by Johnny Mercer, Music by Rube Bloom, Arranged by Sammy Nestico]. The Jazz Band did very good at NMSU, we got straight one's. We were one of the only three of all the bands to get a score like that. We tore it up at San Antonio. The Jazz Band got straight One ratings and even got the Best of Class Award.
