God's Housekeeping

When the earth is a little musty,
And the air is a whole lot dusty,
God sends the wind to do some dusting.
Just a gentle breeze, not a gusting.

The wind is a broom blowing away the dirt,
Dancing through the trees the wind does flirt.
Leaves sway to and fro, each waiting their turn!
While the grinding branches creak and churn.

The breeze tells the sun to hide because the clouds,
They are coming in their dark shrouds.
Down comes the cleansing water from the sky.
You can hear as all of the earth gives a big sigh.

And so it comes, a gentle rain does fall,
Softly pitter patter, you can hear it call,
Come soak up the moisture along the path,
Join in all of nature enjoying a bath!

As the rain gets heavy and beats down,
All gets a scrubbing, even the ground.
The grass drinks up as the drops go sliding down,
Everyone is clean and smiling, nary a frown!

As the sun peeps out from behind the clouds,
A rainbow appears for all of the crowds.
The air is fresh; the sky is clear and blue,
And now once again the earth is anew!
