Grandma Taught Me

My Grandma taught me how to sew,
All about stitches and fabric I should know.
She taught me perfection in every stitch,
To sew flawlessly without a hitch!

My Grandma taught me how to knit.
To keep the yarn untangled without a fit!
She taught me consistence in every connection,
And how to release and keep the tension.

My Grandma tried to teach me to crochet.
But no matter how I tried, there was no way!
She taught me patience that didn’t fade,
Even if only a long chain was all that I made!

My Grandma taught me how to listen,
Even when the conversation wasn’t interestin’.
Respect what others have to say,
Then choose to believe or go on my way.

My Grandma taught me all of these things,
After all the years the lesson still true rings,
It’s good to know that I am not wrong,
That Perfection, Consistence, Patience, and Respect still belong!
