AQ

(because I don't get enough mail to make an FAQ :-P )

I don't get that much mail here (so write me all you want, I always need more!), so I can't exactly call this an FAQ, but here is my AQ, a list of some of the questions I've been asked, or expect to be asked, or just feel deserve to be answered here. If, after reading this over, you still don't see your question answered, mail me and I'll try to answer it, okay?
Well, here goes. . .

  1. There are too many ways to contact the pagemistress. Am I contacting the pagemistress?

  2. E-mail sent to any of the listed e-mail addresses will be read and (er, probably) answered/acknowledged in some way. I can usually be found on the listed chat programs very late at night (ET).  You could also join the Naiachat ML (please-- it needs more people!) where I will answer just about everything that comes through.

  3. If you were born in 1994, how can you be old enough to have a family already?

  4. *laughs* 1994 is when the character Naia's cloneday is set. If you pay attention to the page, you'll notice it's mostly written from the character Naia's POV, and from a future setting (I think around 2035? *forgets, gomen*).

  5. Can you tell Katherine that (insert your comment or query here). . .

  6. Already done. Since Naia is a completely fictional character, any contact you send is actually going to Katherine anyway. The only difference is whether you want the answer written from Naia's character perspective or not.

  7. What are you like in real life?

  8. This, and its companion question of what do I look like in real life, can be pretty well answered by visiting the "Pay No Attention to the Woman Behind the Curtain!" section, a profile of the micronian, Katherine, which includes pictures and some basic data, with a link to a little more detail.

  9. Will you marry me?

  10. *laughs* I actually have gotten this question before, more than once! If the proposition is for Naia, she's both fictional and already married. If the proposition is for Katherine, I like tomboyish girls, and am currently unattached.  If you're a tomboy who thinks you're my type you can give courtship a try, but no promises.

  11. Is Naia gay, too, then?

  12. Probably not, as she's deeply in love with Quelt'san and they have a family and happy life together. There have been hints that at one time she had a relationship with her XO Magdomilla, but that's long in the past and at the time of this writing, has yet to be elaborated on.

  13. What was it like fighting in the war?

  14. This and related questions can only be answered from Naia's character POV, and please don't take the answers seriously. Naia isn't real and I don't even delude myself into thinking she is, so any answers from her are only in fun.

  15. Can you help me with my HTML?

  16. *laughs* Does it look like I'm an HTML wizard myself? I know only enough basics to have a page up, not to design a nice one. If it's a simple question like how to make a link or insert a picture or change the fonts, something very basic, I can answer that. But design questions and complex things like tables and image maps, I'm hopeless at.

  17. Why doesn't your page have a fancy layout?

  18. The short answer? I have a hard enough time with HTML-- layouts are very beyond me.  The long answer, I don't really want to learn to make them, because it's hard to fit so much information into a layout.  Also, the tiny print many layouts use hurts my eyes.  Concern for my eyes is also why I use light text on a dark BG, because somehow that's easier on my eyes than dark on light.

  19. When will (insert name of any fanfic or sequel thereof) be finished and posted?

  20. I really don't know. I'm slow and disorganised at writing fanfics, so I really can't estimate how long any of the fanfics in progress will take, if they get finished at all. Just be patient and keep watching, and hopefully it'll show up eventually .

  21. Why do you have all this other junk no-one cares about on your page? You should get rid of all that other stuff and just make your whole page about (insert your favourite page subject here).

  22. I don't know enough about any one subject to write a whole page about it, and besides which, I have too many interests for that. So, instead I just make a personal page about several of my interests at a time.

  23. I've seen some of your drawings and I thought they were good, so would you draw a picture of my fanfic character for me if I give you a description?

  24. I don't usually draw things (either established or fanfic characters) for other people unless it's my own idea and done as a gift, so unfortunately, the answer is probably no. If you're willing to commission me, however, I would be more likely to agree.

  25. I'm looking for pictures of (insert fictional character who I have some pictures of up on my page here). Do you have any you can send me?

  26. Perhaps, although maybe not what you're looking for. Usually when people ask this they mean big, clear, good pictures to print or edit, and I don't have many of those. If you tell me what you're looking for I may be able to help, but I can't guarantee anything.

  27. Can I use (insert desired object here) on my own page?

  28. Depends. Fanarts and fanfics I've done, ask me first and if I'm in a good mood I might let you. Non-original pictures of established characters, I don't care, as they're mostly from mailing lists or other web pages anyway. Even if I scanned or edited an image myself I don't claim ownership to it. Only things I've drawn or written myself, will I come after you if it's taken without permission. If it's just information from my page you want to borrow, if you can rephrase it enough not to be plagiarism, I don't care. If it's plagiarism, I'm coming after you.

  29. Will you take a look at my page (or fanfic) and tell me if it's okay?

  30. Probably not a good idea.  I'm such a perfectionist (with mine and others' work equally) I would probably come off as harsh.  You would probably get a gentler opinion from a close friend or kind teacher.

  31. Can you make a background (or banner, or other graphic) for my web page?

  32. Possibly. I have made banners and backgrounds before, just a little. I can do a tiny bit of incredibly-basic graphics editing, but if you need anything fancy I'm afraid I can't manage that.

  33. Will you link me?

  34. Maybe. Send me your URL and I'll look it over and decide for myself.

  35. Can I link you?

  36. Usually I don't care, although I would rather know who's linking me and look over their page first.

  37. Are you a snob?

  38. Sometimes I do come off as a snob because I'm such a perfectionistic, choosy, and antisocial person, but I think I'm not, really. I'm just quiet and keep to myself a lot.  Sometimes I may seem cold or snubbing people of certain differing opinions, but I don't really mean to be snobby that way. *thinks this isn't looking so good for her and tries to salvage it* Mostly I'm a kind and friendly person once you get to know me. It's just getting to know me that can be hard, because I'm so distant sometimes. *hopes that helps*

  39. Can I get to know you, then?

  40. You're welcome to try. You can just contact me and try to start up conversation, and if we get along and have things in common, maybe we can be friends.

*brain goes into meltdown* That's all I can think of at the moment, but if I think of anything else later I'll add it then. If you need anything answered other than these, feel free to ask. That's about it for now.
