Founding: the town was founded in 1624 / WASN'T NAMED FOR THE SWANS, BUT FOR A SWAN FAMILY ANCESTOR - LEGEND HAS IT HE HISSED THROUGH HIS TEETH /

The Painting of the Swans: happened in a summer most likely during the 60s' / ON THEIR WAY TO A DANCE AT THE CLUB, THE TEENS GOT INTO TROUBLE FOR SPRAY PAINTING THE SWANS ON WALKER'S PRIVATE LAGOON / Countess Valaira Rosnovsky, Margaret Rutledge, Mr. Adams, Elia Walker, and Grant Booth Jr. were involved / GRANT STOLE THE SPRAY PAINT FROM WELTMAN'S GARAGE AND GOT VALAIRA TO TAKE THE RAP FOR IT (MARGARET JUST RECENTLY FOUND OUT) / Margaret painted the first swan; Valaira painted hearts on the swans / GRANT PAINTED THEIR INITIALS ON THE SWANS BUT THEY GOT BACK AT HIM BY USING THE LEFT OVER PAINT ON HIM (IT TOOK HIM THE REAT OF THE SUMMER TO WASH IT OFF) /

The Great Flood: happened on and around 3/13/78 / SYDNEY RUTLEDGE AND SANDY SWAN WHERE BORN AT SWANS CROSSING GENERAL HOSPITAL DURING THE FLOOD / Margaret Rutledge and Mrs. Swan went into labor and were brought into a hospital that Margaret described as full of "hurt people" and "madness" / MARGARET AND MRS. SWAN WERE ACCIDENTALLY WHEELED INTO EACH OTHER'S ROOM; THER MIX UPS WERE MADE (LIKE THEY GOT EACH OTHER'S FLOWERS); THEY LAUGHED ABOUT IT FOR WEEKS / basically the last time Margaret has talked to Mrs. Swan for more than five minutes (Mrs. Swan has her hands full with her kids) /

The Pier Disaster: happened on 7/4/1992 / OCCURED ON THE LANDMARK PIER / Coach Gromme worked with J.T. and Neil for the fireworks / RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF THE OUTDOOR CONCERT STAGE, WHICH IS WHY THE MAYOR DECIDED TO BUILD THE ROCK CONCERT/OPERA STAGE (READY FOR THE ELECTION CONCERT AT THE END OF THE SUMMER - BOOTH CONSTRUCTION WILL NOT BE USED) / Roxanne, local band, played music; Sandy and Owen were set to help them / STARTED AT 6:00 PM / is the town's 200th celebration / ONE OF THE TOWERS CRASHED ON THE PIER, THE OTHER FELL INTO THE WATER / Neil Atwater gave a speech to start the celebration; the Atwater Foundation ("Dedicated to putting your best face forward") bought the fireworks planned to match donations to the Ladies Improvement Organization / THE BAND DTILL PLAYED THROUGHOUT THE DISASTER / the fireworks went off during the disaster (the remote was dropped and someone stepped on it) / COACH GROMME TRIED TO CALM EVERYONE DOWN / was reported to have a good turnout / SYDNEY FAINTED INTO GARRETT'S ARMS AND A PHOTOGRAPHER SNAPPED A PICTURE THAT APPEAR ON THE COVER OF THE NEXT DAYS PAPER (ARTICLE TITLE - "A BOOTH CAN HELP A RUTLEDGE') / Neil had to stop the fireworks manually / EVERY YEAR THE TOWN HAS TO CELEBRATE WHERE SOMEONE'S ANCESTOR FIRST STEPPED OFF THE BOAT / Grant Booth got legit insurance coverage for the event / WHEN MILA WAS IN THE MURKY WATER, SHE WAS INVISIONED AS BEING A MERMAID PLAYING A HARP - OWEN SAVED HER (GARRETT AND J.T. SAVED EACH OTHER) /

Mila's Surprise Party: happened on 7/10/1992 / HELD AT SWANS SODA SHOP / hosted by the Countess / STARTED 8 PM, FRIDAY EVENING / though it was Mila's Surprise Birthday Party, Mila's birthday wasn't actually for another 3 months / EVERYONE OVER 13 AND UNDER 18 GOT A PINK VIDEO TAPE INVITATION FROM THE COUNTESS / Saja told Mila that she had been a princess in her past life and Owen agreed; Nancy had the nerve to ask Mila if she colors her hair (Sydney also had to wonder) / ANSEL WAS THE PHOTOGRAPHER; HE TOOK A PICTURE OF (LEFT TO RIGHT) GARRETT WEARING DEVIL HORNS, MILA WEARING A CROWN, AND SYDNEY WEARING A HALO; ANSEL ALSO TOOK A PICTURE OF CALLIE AND NEIL / the Mila Float was served (took hours to make); they had straws with a pink star on them that had a picture of a young Mila on it the float; was not liked, not even by J.T. / THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE, THE NEXT DAY, READ "STAR'S PARTY EXPLODES" / Owen gave Mila a drumstick as a raincheck for a free singing leason / THE WALL OF THE UPPER PLATFORM READ "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MILA, MILA, MILA" / a heartbroken Jimmy and a bored Neil rigged the table, that the cake was going on, to spin out of control, making the cake 'explode' / AN UNNAMED PERSON WAS PLAYING THE KEYBOARD AND TALKED WITH OWEN / Tutu was there / THERE WERE PINK AND GREY PARTY HATS / Nancy talked to a newspaper reporter while Sydney talked to most of the guys / THE COUNTESS LEFT EARLY AND MILA WAS TAKEN HOME BY RALPH AND SYDNEY / cost the Countess a small fortune / GARRETT WANTED JIMMY TO FORGET ABOUT SOPHIA / Sydney wore a red dress, Callie wore a yellow dress, Nancy wore a plaid dress, Mila wore a pink sequin gown, Glory wore a white flower print dress, Sandy wore a tuxedo top/bicycle shorts with fishnet pantyhose bottom, the Countess wore a tight red sequin dress / the guys wore tuxedos (Saja wore a red bandana around his head) / UPON ARRIVING, NANCY COMMENTED, "WHAT'S MILA GOING TO BE? TEN?" / the big swan cake was lowered from the ceiling and landed on a round table surrounded by guests; the table began to spin slowly as Valaira sang "Mila;" Sydney and Nancy were laughing; Mila went to cut the cake but dropped the knife when the cake began to spin faster; the cake twirled out and everybody was splattered with cake, except Neil and Jimmy who were sitting accross the romm watching / SOPHIA AND EDWARD LEFT THE PARTY DECLARING THAT IT WAS "PRESCHOOL" / Mila and Callie were taught the Swans Crossing line dance / WHEN THE COUNTESS WAS CONFRONTED FOR A COMMENT, AFTER THE CAKE EXPLOSION, SHE SHRIEKED, "MY HAIR!," AND RAN OFF / all that was left of the swan cake was the neck and head / THE COUNTESS ARRANGED FOR SANDY AND OWEN TO PLAY AT THE PARTY / Garrett picked Mila up at 7 pm / SYDNEY WARNED MILA ABOUT HER SURPRISE PARTY AND MILA TRIED TO ESCAPE TO HER COUSIN TASHA'S (WHO HAD JUST RETURNED FROM HONG KONG); TRIP BY AIR - 1 HOUR) / Jazz worked the party and forced Neil to dance with her / LINE DANCE LINE UP - NEIL, GARRETT, SANDY, J.T., SAJA, GLORY, SYDNEY (MILA ON THE SIDELINES WHILE JAZZ DANCED AROUND) /

Swans/Newport Baseball Game: happened on Friday 7/17/1992 / HELD AT THE PARK / was televised on tv station WSWAN / ON THE SWANS; COACH GROMME WAS THE COACH, OWEN WAS CATCHING (#1), SAJA WAS 3RD BASE (JIMMY'S REPLACEMENT)- #6 NEIL WAS SHORTSTOP (#21/#22), JARED CROSBY WAS 2ND BASE, ADAM HANDELL WAS RIGHT FIELD, C.B. BROWN WAS CENTER FIELD, J.T. ADAMS WAS LEFT FIELD (#11), AND TEAM CAPTIAN GARRETT BOOTH WAS STARTING PITCHER (#25) (other numbers on the field were #3, #10, #14, and #17) / the Swans won game 2 to 1 / SANDY SANG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM / Newport team, Paul Doyle as center field (#14 also the first batter), Gary Collins as shortstop, Don Micale as right field, Moe Milo as 1st base, Rob Neighbors as 2nd base, Jackie Neighbor as home base (catcher?), and coach/captian Beau Milo (players on the field - #3, #1, pitcher #15) / after the game a picture was taken of (l-r) of the Mayor next to Garrett and Saja (Garrett and Saja are on the shoulders holding the trophy) and was supposed to appear as the cover photo of the newspaper / GARRETT AND SYDNEY WERE SUPPOSED TO WALK OFF THE FILED TOGETHER IF THE SWANS WON,; SYDNEY BROKE THE DEAL AND GARRETT LEFT THE ROSE HE HAD FOR HER LAY ON THE FIELD - AFTER THE GAME, GARRETT TOLD MILA THAT SHE WAS THE GIRL HE WANTED TO BE WITH / before the game, the Mayormade an announcement for her plans for the Rock Concert/Opera Stage ("A new chapter for Swans Crossing"); Grant Booth interupted her to announce that he was running against her for Mayor / VICTORY FLOATS WHERE ON THE HOUSE AT SWANS (STARS WITH PICTURES OF THE PLAYERS ON THEM) / Margaret stayed throught the game because Grant Booth did /

Mila's Slumber Party: happened on 7/24/1992 / IN SWANS CROSSING THERE IS A TRADITION OF THE GUYS CRASHING ANY SLUMBER PARTY THE GIRLS MIGHT THROW (SYDNEY AND ANCY 'FORGOT' TO TELL MILA ABOUT THIS); AT TIMES IT HAS BEEN FUN AND AT OTHER TIMES IT HAS BEEN DISASTROUS / the baseball playoffs are 4 weeks after the slumber party / ATTENDING THE SLUMBER PARTY WAS MILA ROSNOVSKY (HOST), SYDNEY RUTLEDGE, NANCY ROBBINS, GLORY BOOTH, SANDY SWAN, AND CALLIE WALKER / Garrett, J.T., Jimmy, Saja, and Owen crashed the party (Neil changed his mind at the last moment) / NANCY BROUGHT THE MUSIC / someone brought a OIUJA board / SYDNEY REVEALED THE DEAL THAT SHE HAD MADE WITH GARRETT TO USE MILA DURING A GAME OF 'WHO AM I?' / the girls became 'Sisters Forever' and spent the night saying "Boys. Who Needs them? ... We Do!" /

SC Country Club Pool Party: happened on 7/31/1992 / GARRETT REVELED THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO SYDNEY DURING THE DANCE / Owen was inspired to write "Vision in Polka-Dot Pink with Mila (Mila was wearing a polka-dot dress) / SOPHIA HAD PLANNED TO DINE WITH HER COLLEGE BOYFRIEND, EDWARD, BUT HE DIDN'T SHOW UP; SOPHIA TRIED TO RECLAIM JIMMY / Saja noted that no one is with they are usually are with / IT IS BELIEVED THAT NEIL'S DRINK WAS DRUGGED WHICH CAUSED HIM TO FALL ASLEEP IN THE CABANAS /

The Nudibranch Benefit: happened on 8/14/1992 / HOSTED BY COUNTESS VALAIRA ROSNOVSKY / held at the Country Club outdoor pool / A BENEFIT FOR N.U.P.S.A.I. (NATIONAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY OF AMERICA, INTERNATIONAL (RECENTLY FOUNDED BY VALAIRA); MOTTO: "GOOD WORDS ARE LIKE GOOD CAUSES; YOU CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEM" / J.T. and Neil researched nudibranchs for Valaira / FEATURED CAPTAIN WALKER'S SPEECH ON THE NUDIBRANCH , A DINNER, SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMERS, A HARPIST, FAKE NUDIBRANCHS, AND A "CRAWLING NUDIBRANCH" / Valaira sang a song for the Nudibranch / NEIL'S PARENTS WERE OUT OF TOWN DURING THE BENEFIT / Captian Walker spoke on how their are 5000 variations of the nudibranch, a snail like mollusk threatened by pollution / RAPLH WAS THE ANNOUNCER / started at 9 pm / SANDY REVEALED HER NEW, BLONDER HAIR HERE (MRS. BOOTH HAD HELPED HER) / table sitting; Table #1: Sandy, Garrett, Grant, Cornelia, Glory, & J.T.; Table #2: Elia, Callie, Neil, and Mila; Table #3: Barek, Margaret, Jimmy, Nancy, and Sydney; Baldie #1 was lurking in background; others stood / IT TOOK NEIL, JT, & GLORY AN HOUR OUT OF THEIR WAY TO TAKE SANDY HOME ON THEIR WAY TO THE SODA SHOP / Valaira, Elia, Margaret, Grant, and a silent Cornelia remembered old times afterwards /

Billy Gunn's Visit: happened on 8/28/1992 / BILLY WAS TO MEET HIS THEN GIRLFRIEND MILA ROSNOVSKY (WHO WAS POSING AS DESIREE DESIRE OF THE CRUEL SWANS) / his visit was mentioned in the newspaper / WAS MUCH MORE CHAOTIC THEN HIS UNANNOUNCED VISIT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE / Sydney made all the arrangements / BILLY WAS ESCORTED TO SWANS SODA SHOP IN THE RUTLEDGE FAMILY MERCEDES, CHAUFFERED BY RALPH / Mila's disguise was revealed and she was taken home by her mother / AFTER MILA LEFT, BILLY JAMMED WITH HIS FANS / Barek told Callie and Jimmy leave work to attend this event / AN EXPLOSION WAS HEARD AND J.T. RAN OUT OF SWANS / the restaurant fell to a silence when Nancy recieved a call with the news of Neil's accident /

Night of Games: happened on 9/18/1992 / ALSO REFERRED TO AS A CARNIVAL NIGHT OR GAME'S NIGHT / happened in J.T. Adams' bedroom / HOSTED BY J.T. ADAMS AND NEIL ATWATER / as a 'favor' for Callie, Saja 'borrowed' Sydney's prize money to pay J.T. and Neil to locate Sydney's birth certificate / THERE WAS A HELIUM TANK / attended by Neil (co-host), J.T. (co-host). Sydney Nancy, Saja, Ralph, Mr. Han, Garrett, Owen, Katie and two of Katie's friends / ONLY CASH WAS ACCEPTED / Sydney had Ralph carry the heavy antique slot machine up 2 flights of stairs to be used in the carnival / KATIE WAS SELLING 'SINFUL' CHOCOLATE MUFFINS AND GLORY'S LEMONADE / with red wand, Neil did genetic fingerprinting (big hit at last year's science fair ) / GLORY DECORATED AND WAS THE CASHIER / Saja was physic tarot card reader (not fortune teller) / TICKET #3 BLUE WON THE VOICE CONTROLLED SCOOTER (RALPH HAD THE TICKET) / Sydney got the builders of the concert stage to donate bunting to a good cause; the carnival night / AT ONE POINT, 300, 000 CHIPS WERE USED / before Saja's offer, J.T. and Neil were back to $3 that Mr. Han gave them which J.t owed to Katie /

The Goodbye-To-Summer Party: happened 9/25/1992/ HELD AT THE S.C. COUNTRY CLUB OUTSIDE POOL / hosted by Sydney Rutledge / WAS SECRETLY BEING CALLED "GOODBYE-TO-GARRETT-PARTY / school was starting on the Monday afterwards /

Rock Concert: set to happen 8 days after Sydney's Goodbye-To-Summer Party / TO BE HELD AT THE BRAND-NEW STAGE / set to focus on local talent; Sandy and Owen are the main band / THE SOUND SYSYTEM WAS MADE BIGGER / the Rutledges are underwriting the bill for the Concert Stage and the town is making a donation to the Art Center in the name of the benefactor / #23 BLUE IS BEING USED / #17 red is being used / THE STAGE IS ALSO REFERRED TO AS A ROCK CONCERT/OPERA STAGE / Callie, Jimmy, and Barek worked on the motor for the rotating stage which allows the stage to ratate in 7 speeds in both directions; the stage is contolled by a compter grid / SYDNEY IS TO GIVE A SPEECH BUT KEEPS FORGETTING TO WRITE IT - NANCY SUGGESTED THAT SYDNEY REUSE THE ONE SHE USED TO USE FOR THE SWANS FALL RIDING CLASSIC / the commitee consists of Sydney as chairperson, Sandy as secretary, Mila as art coordinator, Glory, Nancy and Callie / sydney is to give a speech at the concert but keeps forgetting about ut / AT ONE COMMITEE MEETING, SYDNEY SAT ALONE; GLORY WAS BABYSITTING KATIE, SANDY WAS REHEARSING, NANCY WAS SHOPPING WITH HER MOTHER, CALLIE WAS WORKING AT THE TOOL N' DIE, AND MILA WAS GROUNDED /
