WHY SUCH A BAD REPUTATION?

It only takes 1 bad person to make the rest look bad. The media, in attempt to make juicey headlines, enjoys writing about the bad things that happen in life. And so when someone that is Gothic or appears to be Gothic does something bad it'll make headlines. And thus that is why there is more bad news than good news about the Gothic community. Actually, I don't think the media has ever printed any good things about the Gothic community because they don't give a fuck about who they hurt, they just want to make money.

The same goes for Jenny Jones and other talk shows that have had so called "Goths" on the their talk shows. To gain ratings talk show hosts like Jenny Jones would only invite misguided young teens who dressed like the living dead, worshipped Marilyn Manson or Satan, did bad in school, treated their parents badly, that had claimed to be Gothic. Due to these misinformed talk shows such stupid teenagers have become the Gothic stereotype and have created a bad image for the entire Gothic community.

Also, anything that is not part of the main stream is often rejected or viewed as wrong in some way. The main stream doesn't want to understand Gothics or to find out that Gothics are in fact as normal as the next person. Fear, misunderstanding, ignorance, and just plain stupidity has all contributed to the bad image that has over shadowed the reality of what Goth really is.

Yes, there are bad Goths out there, but there also good ones, and the good does in fact out weigh the bad.
