Here is a tried and true slo cooker recipe I have used for years. A family favorite.

For large crock pot, use recipe and a half. Lightly grease crock pot. Alternate layers of bread, grated cheese and desired diced meat. Beat together eggs, milk, salt and parsley. Pour over bread, cheese and meat in crock pot. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours. Delicious!

Unstuffed Cabbage in crock pot
Contributor: Julie H.

Sauté ground beef with onion and carrots till mostly done (ok to leave it a little bit pink.) I usually do this the night before, or when I have extra time. In 6 qt crock pot, layer cabbage, the second onion, rice, hamburger mixture, tomato sauce, tomato soup and water. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours (the longer the better). Stir when you get home and serve.

CURRIED SPLIT PEA SOUP
Contributor: Kathleen B.

1) In a 4 or 5 quart crock pot, mix together all the ingredients except 1/2 tablespoon of the curry powder and the canadian bacon.
2) Cover and cook on low setting for 9 hours. Stir in the remaining curry powder and canadian bacon and cook for 1 more hour or until soup is done as you like it.
3) Add more salt, pepper and/or curry powder to taste if needed. A cup of good honey roasted cubed ham may be substituted for the canadian bacon if you wish.
Note: Crock pots vary in temperature - watch soup the last hour or two so that it does not over cook.

CURRIED CAULIFLOWER SOUP

STUFFED CROCKPOT CHOOK/CHICKEN
Contributor: Ann

One of my old girlfriends used to stuff a chicken with her favourite bread based stuffing & carefully sew up the hole so none could leak out. Then she used to pop the chook into the crock pot with some strips of streaky bacon laid on top. She would do this in the morning before going to work and when she came home from work in the evening all she had to do was to prepare some vegetables and they had a fabulous meal. Any cooking juices at the bottom would be used to make an onion gravy and spooned over the cooked meat.

CROCKPOT CUBED STEAK RECIPE
Contributor: Janet

Put 2 jars of Heinz beef gravy in your crockpot and turn on low. In the meantime, brown 8 average size pieces of cubed steak in a skillet. Add this to the gravy. Then brown diced onion in the same skillet and add this to the gravy and steak. I used a medium sized onion. You can add more if you like. Rinse out one of gravy jars with about a half jar of water and rinse the skillet out with this to pick up all those delicious brown bits from browning the steak. Pour this into the crockpot. Simmer on high for two hours, then on low for two hours. It makes the best gravy and the steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Mashed potatoes are a must with this recipe !
