Angel of Mine

One Mothers Day, 3 years ago. My family and I went to vist the Toronto Humane Sociaty. Hoping to adopt a new addition to our family.

When we got there we walked around looking in the cages full of abused, neglected, and not wanted dogs. We saw two nice looking dogs but both of them did not suit our lifestyle.

So we were near giving up when we saw this sweet dog sitting in it's cage, with its one paw up, pleading to us to take it home forever. It then licked my brother's and my Dad's hand so nicely.

We asked one of the people working there to take the dog out for us to see. We found out that it was a female dog. She was a Dalmation as we already knew and she had been abused and neglected.

But we couldn't take her home yet. She needed to meet our other dog which we love to bits. He is a male Lhasa Apso with the best disposition in his breed I have ever seen and is very intelligent.

Well the two got along wonderfully and we learned that the dalmation's name was Hailey. We learned that she was kept in a basement for 4 years with this man who was her owner and fed only dinner leftovers and garbage, whatever she could find.

This man also owned a litter of staffodshire bull terrier puppies. We think that he used her for a training target to teach these puppies to be mean, lean, fighting machines. She has scars all over her body, is frightened when she sees a stick or broom, and always wants love, thats all she desires and this man could not see that.

She is a sweet caring dog with a great disposistion and would do anything for her family. After what she's gone through its amazing how much of a Angel she is. I love my two dogs and they are my Angels.

Anyone who hurts a friend of man[a dog] is truely evil. I wish that they could see the Angelic face that every dog wears.
