remember. As his nick name suggests, he is as dark as a Sri Lankan
national and his hair are as stiff as that of a porcupine. He is
a man of many qualities.
Kaalu is originally from Allahabad in U.P. (India). He has always been very meritorious throughout his school and college time. After finishing his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Govt. Engg. College, Gorakhpur (U.P.), he took admission in M.Tech in BHU but before he could finish it, he joined NITIE for his Post Graduation in Industrial Engineering.
As is true for all the brilliant engineering students, he also joined the race for the IES (Engg. Services) and Civil Services Exam. It was no wonder that he easily made it into the Engg. Services twice in succession. He performed quite well in the Civil Services Exams as well but unfortunately could not make it in the final tally.
I know him as a guy who used to keep his hostel room quite clean and tidy. He was very particular in getting early in the morning and taking a bath followed by prayers to God. He is an avid listener of music. His taste for music holds no barrier and includes classical, pop, jazz etc. He is a bit crazy about buying branded products. You can find all the high prized branded clothes in his room. Likewise he has a large collection of shoes. I sometime wonder how often he wears one pair of shoes before he discards the same.
His dressing sense is something which is very irritating to most of the eyes. Can you believe that a dark guy like him wearing a shining red T-shirt and a contrasting jeans or trouser or may be even a short. But after all Nathhu is Nathhu. Our dear Kaalu Nath was also quite good at cricket though he rarely scored well or bowled well. But for the reasons always cited by him for his dismal performance, he would have always scored quite well.
He is currently working with Central Electricity Authority in Delhi. He may be shifting over to Military Engineering Services. He got married recently in June 1999 to Jaya from Gorakhpur.
Ashish Nath along with Mukesh Dasoondi
and Vishal Chauhan made a great team in NITIE.
They had been members of a 'union' whose boss was Mukesh Dasoondi.
Harish Kumar Harlani was the one who was always
scared of their union.
