Vineet Dewan's world of Knowledge & Excitement

Mukesh Singh Dasoondi (MSD) is from Jhabua, M.P. (India).
Mukesh Dasoondi is a product of Sainik School, Rewa (Madya Pradesh) and REC, Jabalpur.  He did his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Jabalpur.  He is really a brilliant guy.  Can you believe that this guy was topper throughout and is a gold-medallist in his B.E.

If you speak to him, you will come to know how deep his knowledge of subjects of Civil Engineering is.  I am really not surprised at that.  Wonder why?  Simple.  All his brothers are civil engineers.  Even his father is a civil engineer.

After his graduation, he wrote the GATE-95 exam.  Do you know he was among the top rankers in the GATE as well.  He scored 99.92 percentile.

I vividly rememer having met him in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gole Market on May 30, 1995.  He and me both had been there for the GD (group discussion) and Interview session as a part of the selection process for NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai (India)).  He seemed to be pretty confident right from the beginning.  This was contrary to my situation.  My body language could clearly say that I was not at all confident of my self getting through as my GATE score was considerably less (96.30 percentile).

Nevertheless, we both were having a nice discussion on the hot climate and the selection procedure outside the school building.  I remember that he was not very urban  while communicating in english.  His hands used to speak more than his tounge.

The day passed and things went off my head.  It was on June 26, 1995 I was in NITIE as my first day and completing the admission formalities.  There he was....... the known face.  Yes it was he..... Mukesh Singh Dasoondi.  I had to ask for his name twice before I could remember the word 'Dasoondi'.  Surely his sirname was a matter of fun to all of us many a times.

Days passed and our friendship grew further.  We did a lot of things together in NITIE.  Memorable of those activities that we did together were our Placement Brochure printing from Tata Donnelly Press.  It was a big exercise.  We have a lot of memories of that period.

We also did our 2 months summer project HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited).  He never used to pay for the bus tickets and always I had to pay for it.  Reasons for the same can not be given as the same stand censored.

We did our final project close to each others office.  I did it for ICICI and he did it for Tata Housing Development Corporation.  We both used to meet near the Churchgate station and go back to the NITIE hostel together.

Things changed as we passed out of NITIE.  He joined General Motors and became expert of SAP (the enterprise resource planning, ERP system).  Later when he switched to HCL Infosystems, the company did not waste much of months to send him to various countries for successful SAP implementation.

His wife Jaya is very good at cooking.  The aaloo-ka-pakoras  made by her are really very delicious.  Myself and Ashish Nath had it once.

My best wishes to Mukesh Dasoondi.
