La Chorrera es una cascada de agua helada que nace en algún lugar del Ávila, Parque Nacional que separa a Caracas de la costa. Para llegar a la Chorrera, aparte de rustiquear por más de una hora, hay que llevarle ropa o Ron (preferiblemente Santa Teresa) a los campesinos que viven arriba, y que cuidan de que no te pierdas cuando estás allá. Ellos te reciben con café caliente (preferiblemente San Antonio) que cae muy bien con el friito que hace por esos lados. Luego de pasar la casa de los campesinos, se sigue en carro por unos 10 minutos más, hasta que se acaba el camino. De ahí, machete en mano a buscar la Chorrera, siguiendo marcas en la jungla, no siempre muy visibles. Al llegar, el reto es sólo bañarse... ya que el agua está helada... después a tomar Ron y pasar el día.
La Chorrera is an iced water fall born somewhere in El Ávila, National Park that divides Caracas from the coast. To go to La Chorrera, besides driving in a very bad road for an hour, you must give with you some old clothes and Rhum (preferably Santa Teresa) to the people that lives up there, and take care of you, so you don´t get lost. They welcome you with some hot coffee (preferably San Antonio) that is delicious in the cold weather. After passing the people´s house, you can drive for aproximately 10 minutes until the end of the road. Then, just pick up your "Machete" and go seach for La Chorrera, following some light marks in the middle of the jungle. Once you arrive (if you arrive!), the chalenge is to have a bath in those iced waters. After that, just drink rhum and have a nice day.
