Scott Moshier
Hi, I am Scott Moshier. I currently work at the ATC School at Fort Rucker. I work in the Tower Simulator. Been there since 1995.

I Joined the Army in 1970. Took Basic at Ft. Polk, LA. Was at Ft. Rucker by 4 Dec 1970. Started ATC School down at Tank Hill on 18 Dec 1970 as a 93H (Tower Power). I did my OJT at Hooper Stagefield outside the Ozark gate in one of those T1 towers. I graduated on 8 April 1971 and ended up in Korea by Mid May. We all thought we would end up in Vietnam, but because of the Army's infinite wisdom, I ended up in Korea instead. I was assigned to the 284th Aviation Company (ATC)with
duty at Camp Humphreys. It was Country Club Tower in those days. Out in the middle of the field on an erector set. The Radar was set up using a 72 van. I helped vote on the type of patch we would wear. The one we ended up with was not the one I voted for. LOL

I returned to the States in May 73. Got out and came back in 6 months and 29 days later. Got myself stationed in my home town of El Paso, Texas at Biggs Army Airfield, Ft. Bliss. I was there just before we changed over to USACC in January of 74. I did another tour in Korea from July 76 to Mar 78 again with the USAATC BN, Korea (Prov) with duty again at Camp Humphreys. We had become Desiderio Tower by that time and changed again to Humphreys Tower. I talked my way back to
Biggs Field cause been there done that and Chon Sepulveda needed Controllers in a hurry. (I was suppose to go to Ft. Ord CA).

I went to Germany in 1981 with the 58th ATC Bn and worked at Ansbach AHP assigned to 2 Plt, 189th ATC Co. Did a lot of Tactical there and ended up as the Tac Tower chief for the AN/TSQ70A without Air conditioning (never could get that A/C Cable) We compensated by popping the top and opening the door. Oscillating fans did well plus we fangled some CH47 20 foot head set cables and rigged for the tower. We just stood outside a lot of times.

After 13 years I ended up again at Ft. Rucker teaching at the school. Taught the Tactical side for several years then was NCOIC of the tower Labs which were mock towers and blackboards with magnetic airplanes in those days. I was at Ft Rucker from Feb 1984 - July 1990.

I was back in Korea by the end of July 1990 assigned to 4/58th ATC Regt with duty in A company at Camp Red Cloud(Uijongbu). I was the Platoon Sergeant for 1st platoon. with a 70 team , 61 team, 71 team and a tac team with two 97s. That was where I sat during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I was back in the States by Aug 1991 and back at Ft Rucker. I worked at Pratt Hall (Huey Simulators) mostly as ROAD Sgt until I retired in Apr 1993. I was hired at the ATC School in Dec 1995 and
now work at Braman Hall as a DATS (Tower) Instructor.
