THE NEW MUSIC EDUCATIONAL.
in GENERAL
An educational program for elementary schools, developed and conducted by Naftali Lahav.
At the center of the program each pupil constructs his own instrument. it is a modular - one or two string - instrument,
which has a charming guitar-like sound.
THE NEW MUSIC EDUCATIONAL PROJECT Is on work now for six years.
This music project is running now
in 19 schools in Israel, and will expand in the coming year.
The student's reactions are fantastic and the ISRAEL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION DEPARTMENT is highly recommending this specific program.
PROGRAM MOVEMENTS
The program lasts for one year and has four movements:
- 1st. movement: Construct your own Guitar.
- 2nd. movement: Learn how to hold it; Basic individual training (in a group)
- 3rd. movement: Playing in ensembles (communication amongst the players)
- 4th. movement: Orchestral work and at the end of the course: a concert perform by the pupils

MAIN GOALS
- A) Each pupil loves music and in many cases this program will be the first time of studying music -
that first time is a very significant moment and we want it to be - and to remembered - as a wonderful experience
- B) A ten, eleven or twelve year old boy or girl doesnt really know about his or her personal musical abilities and affections, going through that program each pupil will know much better about music in general and in private. This experiment will be done in positive manner.
- C) Going through THE NEW MUSIC EDUCATIONAL PROJECT the pupils will have to communicate with their friends. There are plenty of sessions that they have to play in pairs, trios ...up to full class playing together so called Orchestral work.
- D) Having an Instrument;
Each pupil participating this program will obtain a real and a fine string instrument.
At the end of the program every pupil will take his personal instrument - home!
NAFTALI LAHAV
Born in 1952 at kibbutz MIZRA, ISRAEL.
Graduated from the Rubin Academy of Music
in Jerusalem (1981)
Naftali Lahav is a member of the Israel Composers' League (I.C.L)
Many of his compositions have been published.
Naftali Lahav is a unique guitar performer;
expert in producing a sonority guitar sound.
His sound is wide, warm and velvety.
In his concerts, Lahav emphasizing his personal interpretation to a well known compositions as well as his own.
