Assam Initiative is a group of people committed to the cause of wider appreciation of culture, heritage, and the arts (of or related to Assam).

Culture, in this connection, is understood to be a continuously evolving concept, encompassing unlimited aspects of human behaviour.

Heritage, in this connection, is understood to include various fields, such as, but not limited to, ethnic, natural, biological, historical, archaeological, architectural, all indigenous practices, and of course, cultural and artistic heritage with their all diversity.

Arts, in this connection, stands for traditional/ tribal/ folk/ classical/ modern/ electronic/ digital and such other arts, encompassing all genres among them, and beyond, including fresh, innovative and experimental attempts in any aesthetic form.
