Wednesday, January 19, 2005 - 8:41 p.m.

We got a little bit of snow today, so we got out of school an hour early. I'm hoping for at least a two hour delay tomorrow.

I can't wait for the new CD! I'm going to pre-order it when I get my paycheck tomorrow.

An update on getting a domain. I think I am going to go with Toasty Host. It seems like a pretty good deal. I'm not sure when I will sign up and get going, but I will keep you(or at least Joanna) posted. :)

Tuesday, January 18, 2005 - 7:38 p.m.

I'm on the prowl for a domain name, so hopefully I can get that figured out soon. I also have to start planning out how I'm going to save up for a digital camera. Don't you just hate money?

In other news, my mom is planning on opening up a little store in town. We aren't exactly sure what it is going to be, but so far a candy/ice cream place and a sports memorabilia type deal have been suggested. I'm pulling for the sports store because I am a crazy hockey fan and if you add in ACC merch I think it could be pretty successful. People love their ACC Basketball down here. It is pretty crazy.

FYI, it is freezing outside! We were in the teens this morning, and it barely warmed up this afternoon. I'm really hoping for snow. I heard that we might be getting some this weekend. Yay!

Final thought: I put up a countdown to SOI Raleigh on the Stars on Ice page. I believe there are 73 days until the show. It's so far away. :(

Sunday, January 16, 2005 - 11:33 a.m.

First off I would like send my thoughts and prayers to Angela Nikodinov, her family, and her friends. Seeing Timothy Goebel breaking down into tears yesterday was so heartbreaking. I can only imagine what they are all going through right now. Stay strong and God bless!

I enjoyed watching the 2005 Skate Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships. I thought Johnny Weir was spectacular(as always). It would have been great for Tim to come away with the gold, but I was still very happy to see Johnny win. It was all so bittersweet for me though. Evan Lysacek did a wonderful job as well. I loved the "Singin' in The Rain" program. His outfit, the music, the moves - it was wonderful!

And the ice dancing..I loved it! I'm so happy Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto won! They always have the best costumes and programs. I'm so happy for them! They were so cute in the interview too. It's a shame they won't be able to make the Olympics. Now to my second favorite thing, pair skating. Inoue and Baldwin didn't win, so I was a little bummed out, but I thought Orscher and Lucash did a great job.

Now to the highlight of the night, the ladies free skate. Kimberly Meissner. Did you see her land that triple axel! That was awesome! It's exciting to watch the future of ladies figure skating. But right now Michelle Kwan still has it and she is U.S. ladies figure skating. Congrats Michelle on winning your 9th U.S. title! I was getting a little nervous when I saw Sasha Cohen's marks because they were higher than I expected them to be, considering the fact that she fell and all. She really did poorly last night, but thankfully nothing crazy happened and Michelle got the gold which she absolutely deserved. Go Michelle!

After skating, I watched three of the performances on the Tsunami Relief special. I watched Sarah McLachlan, Josh Groban, and Elton John. I couldn't stand to watch the footage of the tsunami, so I ended up turning off my T.V. after I watched them. It's unbelievable.

Wednesday, January 12, 2005 - 7:52 p.m.

Well, I am back at school and all is, for the most part, well. This semester I am taking Conversations in Diversity, Algebra 2, World Religions/Bible in History, and U.S. History. I have A Lunch(first lunch), so the day goes by more slowly, but that is alright. Thank God for Kendall being in my lunch...

I got my tickets for Stars on Ice in the mail today!! Section 101. Row P. Seats 1-2. I'm so excited! I can't wait for April 1st. It is such a long ways away. *sniffle* I'm trying to find myself a "good" camera to take pictures with at the show. On the ticket it says no flash cameras, so I am in somewhat of a predicament. I have started looking at digital cameras(I have wanted one for the longest time), but I'm not sure what I should be looking for. See, I am technologically challenged. My search begins on the kodak site, so I will see what I come across there.

Time to watch Lost! Mwah.

Saturday, January 1, 2005 - 12:07 p.m.

Happy New Year! My best wishes for everyone in 2005!

I know you are dying to know how I am starting out the New Year(humor me). Of course, I am watching the WJC today. USA is playing Sweden, as I mentioned in my last entry. I want to play Russia again, so I hope we can get a win. Also, I am not ready to stop watching hockey yet. I have missed it so much this season! Last night I couldn't help but think that if there wasn't an NHL lockout I would be at the Carolina Hurricanes New Years Eve game. Humm...the USA/Sweden game is on at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Figure skating is on too, but I think it could be a repeat? I am not sure.

I was watching TV last night, and guess what I saw a commercial for? Lost! The new episodes start on Wednesday. I can't wait! I hope Claire is okay. If I remember correctly - it feels like it has been so long since the last episode - Jack and Kate had found Charlie. It sorta ended there. Stupid cliff hangers...

90 days until Smucker's Stars on Ice.

Friday, December 31, 2004 - 10:39 a.m.

To get this out of my system, let's start out with the bad news. USA lost last night to the Czech Republic, 3-1. I am beyond disappointed with my team. Last year we were winning gold, and this year we can barely win a game. Because of our loss we dropped from first place to third place in Group A. The Czech team finished first and Russia came in second. I am looking at the WJC schedule on usahockey.com, and it says that we will play Sweden tomorrow. Whoever wins that game will go on to play Russia on the following day. I still have some hope that my boys will pull through for me and at least make it as far as playing Russia on January 2nd. Right now though, I am not sure if we can beat either team. We beat Russia for our first win, but somewhere along the way something went terribly wrong. Go USA...

On a more positive note my mom, Jenna, and I went down to Cary yesterday afternoon. The goal was to find towels, but that never really happened. We went to a couple of different stores, but never found any great sales. We ended up going to On The Border(a mexican restaurant) for dinner. The food wasn't bad. My chicken burito was a tad bit soggy, but it was still good. Afterwards we went to Barnes & Noble. They didn't have any bond CDs, which is why I wanted to go there in the first place. I looked at this hilarious cat book when I was there though. I forgot what it was called, but it had strange pictures of people's cats with funny quotes to go with them. I wish I remembered the book's name, so you could understand what on earth I was talking about. Anyways...we ended up going to Border's since neither Jenna nor I found what we were looking for. I bought bond's "Born" CD and a Burt's Bees facial kit. I listened to "Winter" as soon as I got home. I know, I am such a dork. I was sitting in my room going through in my mind Alexei Yagudin's entire Winter program. Does that make me crazy?

Later on, I made Jenna watch Anton Sikharulidze and Elena Berezhnaya's Dance Mix(I think that's what they were calling it) program from the 2004 World Team Challenge. And somehow, after all was said and done, we ended up listening to Josh Groban. Sadly, I do not recall how we ended up listening to him.

I know this was a long entry, but I have one last thing to say: today is the last day of 2004. It seems so weird. This year has gone by so fast, but I am looking forward to starting anew. My best wishes to everyone in '05!

Thursday, December 30, 2004 - 11:15 a.m.

Last night was another bad WJC night as USA lost to Belarus. I don't understand what is going on with them. Belarus should have been as easy as pie to beat. You can't win the gold medal if you can't beat Belarus. Only in the third period did it hit us that we should be winning, so we decided to play some hockey. It was too little too late.

Belarus' goalie Stepan Goryachevskikh was solid in net. On the other end...it wasn't looking so good. We started out with the spectacular debut of Cory Schneider, who let in three goals right off the bat. In the second period we brought in Al Montoya, who let in the first shot he faced. I do have a soft spot for goalies, so I will say in their defense that they weren't getting much help from their teammates. Final score: 5-3. We play the Czech Republic tonight. Go USA...

Other than hockey I have not been up to much this winter break. Before the wonderful hockey game I watched King Arthur. I love that movie! Speaking of movies, there are quite a few that I must see: Meet The Fockers, The Phantom of The Opera, Troy, and In Good Company. I have noticed that good movies come out in bunches.

Today I am going to try to go to the CDwarehouse to cell some of my CDs and DVDs. I want to buy bond's CD "Born". The song "Winter", which Alexei Yagudin skated to in my favorite program of his, is on it. I don't need to sell that stuff to buy it, but it would be nice to get rid of some of it.
