Beware! Beware!

On the sunny rocks as I lazily lie
Down in the depths I think I spy
The deadly gleam of a mesmeric eye
The baleful glare a steady stare
Of an octopus in his murky lair
Oh denizens of the deep take care
Beware! Beware!

He begins to climb & fastening sieze
On the slippery rocks that seem to please
As the tentacles grip with slithering ease
Those tentacles covered with greasy slime
Searching for prey all ready and prime
On which to perform his beastly crime
Beware! Beware!

When he spied a toothsome prey
With a dense black cloud he covers the way
As he squirts his foul and inky spray
The arms creep out with a tentative feel
And fastening crush with a grip that seals
The fate of the thing that provides his meal
Beware! Beware!

With his weaving arms and parrot beak
Nothing's too far or deep to peek
Be it lobster bold or limpet meek
Or crabs that sidle and scurry along
Or eels that wriggle and glide among
The fish that swim the current strong
Beware! Beware!

O denizens all of the mighty deep
Things that crawl and things that creep
Watch out for the arms that weaving seek
A tasty morsel on which to dine
Of the baleful eye and the mesmeric stare
Of the octopus in his murky lair
Beware! Beware!
