My situation is this, I was adopted at birth by a Good family!(Thanks to God.). Reunited with b-mom in 1973, she has made up stories, told half truths etc. etc. I speak with her from time to time. (there are more circumstances to all this than I can go into at this point....). I do pray to God that she will tell me the truth about my b-dad. We only live about 150 miles apart, we talk on the phone sometimes, not much more than ' Hi, how are you, & how have you been' sort of thing. I try to see her whenever I'm in Houston and have a little time. I have a need to know _Who_ my father Was/Is. I don't think he even knew she was pregnant, I'm quite sure really. I've though of petitioning the court to have my real birth certificate open for medical reasons, though I've bogged down because other matters with my adoptive family right now. I feel I'm not that good a writer & I DON"T want to have my request turned down because I've failed to use the 'Right Wording' in the request. I've recently become a grandfather & feel that research on both sides of my natural/birth families would reveal a lot of useful information on health questions, which need to be answered. I'm frightened with talk about The UAA, Uniform Adoption Act, if it passes what might happen is Frightening to many adoptees in search of the TRUTH (It's out there!).
