First, a big thanks goes out to Tysen and Mary for giving me a ride up to LA!! I know it was long, but it was worth it!!! Thanks you guys!! And a big wussup to Justin and Tammy for coming along!! It was great!!! And, last but not least, Marcos, THANK YOU!!! This wouldn't have been possible without you! It was AWESOME (that's an understatement! :) The Drive Up to LA Man is it a long drive from San Diego to Los Angeles!!! I hadn't been to LA in a year, so maybe that's why it seemed long... Anyhow, my friends and I left at 6pm for the 2 hour drive up. We got to Melrose at about 8pm, grabbed a bite to eat at McD's and decided to do a bit o' shopping and looking around since we had an hour to kill before the party started. After hitting Melrose, we got to The Dome at like 9:15 and wouldn't you know it, there was a long ass line already!! Geez...I didn't really expect people to be there that early! Standing around in line wasn't too bad...not more than 15 min. Some dude was walking around the line and handing out Aqua Boogie stickers and I had received mine already, and I told him this and he goes "Sunit! Hey, I'm Marcos"...whoa! This is the guy I've been in touch with at AB and I finally get to meet him before I even step into the club!!! Anyhow, the crowd seemed pretty cool. I thought most people would be well dressed, and most were -- the guys mostly had on casual pants, clean shirts (important! :), but damn some of the women! Geez...half shorts, showin' them cheeks off! But hey, this is LA and it's a dance club, so I guess it's cool... :) Most women, though were well dressed, and I think that makes of look good. This was my first time at The Dome, so after we got inside I was surprised to see how big the dance floor was! I've been to many of the clubs in San Diego and none of them are as huge as this one! Inside The Dome I guess you could call it a "multi-level" dance floor since there was a raised part in the middle where lots of people could dance and in the corner's were raised circular areas where a bunch of people could get on and dance. On one side of the floor was the bar and next to that in the far corner was the VIP (yeah!) area. The stage was pretty damn huge and I could just make out the DJ booth across the room. For tonight, I found out they had put up a "turn-table booth" for Richard and Bad Boy Bill (BBB) which was sitting next to the raised section in the middle of the floor with the 4 turn tables they were to use tonight to spin on -- much like they've done on CD! Who woulda guessed they would do this! :) The sound system seemed seemed good..though they weren't exactly showing it off yet... :) Subwoofers surrounded the floor tucked away in the walls. Mid's hung from the ceiling and the tweeters were all over the place hanging from the ceiling also. The Lighting was pretty good too, although I think that E Street Alley here in San Diego has a much better lighting system. A few colorays were to be seen, as well as several strobes, and a colored array of lights that went out in a star fashion on the ceiling. The Party Picks Up!!! OK..time...what the heck was the time...I guess it was like 10pm or so when the party picked up...lotsa people had come in by then and the DJ had inched the music up a bit...just a bit though :) My friends and I got on the floor and danced a bit and then we attacked the buffet! Yup, there's a free buffet there... They had lasagna, rice, rolls and some curry-like thing. Yes, the buffet was good... :-) So, after eating and kickin' it for a while, we went out on the dance floor again, and I looked around if Richard and/or BBB had gotten there yet. Nope not yet, wait another half-hour and check again. OK, back to the floor. The music slowed down and they changed the mic over to the stage...Hey! Groove Radio was giving away Richard's and BBB's new CD -- The House Connection!!! Cool! Next, they annonced the first guest of the night.... ROBIN S.!!!! Yup, none other than Ms. "You got to show me love" herself was up on stage!!! It was an amazing performance ... people cheering her on, people dancing everywhere. It was pretty cool. THIS BE BAD BOY BILL ANOTHAT PHAT MIXXER! THESE ARE SOME PHAT HOUSE BY
