The Aircraft Homebuilders of SA is an independent, non-profit, non-racial organisation dedicated to the promotion and development of Personal Sport Aviation and Aircraft Homebuilding in South Africa. As member organisation of the Aero Club of South Africa, The Aircraft Homebuilders of SA enjoys official recognition as a representative body of aircraft homebuilders in South Africa.

Our objectives include:

Active promotion of the sport and hobby of aircraft homebuilding to all sport aviation enthusiast in Southern Africa. Developing personal sport aviation as a fully recognised sport. Developing aircraft homebuilding technologies to meet the highest safety standards, without infringing on the rights of the individual to freedom of expression. Evaluating and recommending materials produced in South Africa for the use in homebuilt aircraft. Promoting the sport as a "family affair" and encouraging participation in our activities by all members of the family. Supporting members with technical and engineering advice.

This Koala is fitted with a BMW motorcycle engine with the engineering help of Anton Maneschijn Jnr (the President of the Aircraft Homebuilders of SA). In picture is Peter Bosch of Ultralight Marketing (the SA TEAM agent and Cheeky designer) and Hansel Du Bruyn, the test pilot.
