The organization has two main goals. The first is to provide counseling and education for the Basenji owner in dealing with the unusual personality of the "BASENJI". We offer suggestions and help to correct any potential or existing situations that may become difficult for the owner to handle. Secondly, our goal is to aid in the placement or adoption of Basenjis that are no longer capable of staying in their present environment. All efforts are made to help the current owner and Basenji to adjust or find a mutual understanding of each other. Placement or adoption is only an alternative after the counseling no longer is a viable solution. Any Basenji placed through B.E.A.R. may vary from a puppy to an adult male/female.
