Relationships: An Essay
by: Leapfrog Kristo

It wasn't ever the relationships I didn't have that ruined my life. Always the ones that were there.

* * *

Meet my mother. She was a great lady. Our family picture was perfect. And then she left me. She left my dad too. It was much more him than me. My guess is she wasn't ready for a family. I have no idea. I never found out. It was an interesting occasion when I saw her again.

* * *

It's weirder to me when I remeet people they come back from the dead or whatnot.

* * *

"Joe! Oh my god! What... what happened to you?"

"I was arrested for breaking into a building. And then I came here... I'd heard traces of you through Gecko. They arrested me, and put me here. Now, I'm here."

"Oh my god... I thought you were dead!"

* * *

"Who are you?"

"I'm your mother, sweetie."

"Wha--- this can't be happening." I stared at what I thought was a ghost. Someone was playing a trick on me or something. "Why aren't you dead?"

"I was never dead. Please, come see me."

I remembered that day well. I was frightened. I thought I may have been dead to see the ghost of my mother. It wasn't a ghost.

* * *

Girls. That's an interesting topic. There are always some of those arounds. Strange, relationships with them really affect your life.

* * *

"It's awful to hit children. Especially your own son."

I embraced Mel after our long conversation. I had a good cry after that day. Our relationship is still wonderful.

* * *

"I think it's better we don't see each other anymore."

"Sylvia... it's ironic, I was thinking the same thing."

"Oh... well," I knew she wasn't expecting that, "...it's mutual."

* * *

"Leapfrog... I have something to tell you."

I smiled. "What is it, Alex?"

"That girl... Lucy..."

My smile turned into a frown. "What is it?"

"She's dead. She was raped"

My jaw dropped. "What?!"

* * *

I rushed into Courage's house, only to find Casey's lifeless body. That was only yesterday. And I still have the pain in my body seeing that.

* * *

Relationships. They change people's lives. For good or for bad.
