Highly touted player that was very impressive in his two seasons at Tech....Aside from fastball, also throws splitter, curveball, and tailing change-up....14th round choice of the Minnesota Twins (435th selection overall) in 2005 Major League Baseball Draft who elected to enroll at Tech instead.

2007: Earned spot as number one starter in Tech rotation....notched first win of season 2/16 vs. UIC....struck out a career-high ten batters while turning in a complete game four-hit shut out of Boston College 3/16....named ACC Pitcher of the Week for 3/12 to 3/18....established new career-high striking out 11 batters while walking none in 8.2 innings of two-hit work 4/20 vs. NC State....named ACC co-Pitcher of the Week for 4/16 to 4/22....worked eight strong innings to beat eventual ACC champion North Carolina 5/23 in opening game of conference tournament....selected in the 23rd round (700th player overall) of June Draft by the Washington Nationals.

2006: Posted 7-2 record in 19 appearances as a freshman....worked in relief to pick up the win in collegiate debut 2/15 vs. Georgia State....carried no-hitter into seventh inning while striking out season-high seven batters in no-decision start vs. Georgia Southern 4/5....allowed just three hits and one unearned run to gain win in eight inning outing vs. South Florida 5/6....also notched wins against Mississippi Valley State, Georgia, Clemson, Florida State and Duke....did not see duty during NCAA Tournament....pitched for Cotuit of Cape Cod League during summer.

High School: Earned 12 letters in baseball, basketball and golf at New Richmond High School....A two-time Cincinnati Player of the Year honoree in baseball....Had a career record of 40-5 and a 0.93 ERA....Pitched three no-hitters and one perfect game....Named the SBAAC Player of the Year for three straight years....Pitched the Midland Redskins to the 2004 Connie Mack National Championship....Also spent summer of 2005 with Midland....Rated as the No. 1 prospect in Ohio and #40 in the nation.
