Power hitting first baseman/outfielder who is in his third year in the Georgia Tech program....Has worked hard to improve his defense....The younger brother of former Tech star outfielder Matt Murton, who lettered for the Yellow Jackets from 2001-03 and now plays for the Chicago Cubs.

2007: Hit safely in first 10 games of the season....homered while driving in five runs vs. Rutgers 3/2....also had three four-RBI games during season....tied school record with two triples in a game 3/25 at Duke....went just 9-for-66 (.136) between 3/31 and 5/5....rebounded with back-to-back three-hit games 5/6 and 5/7 at South Florida....selected in the 40th round of the June Draft by the New York Yankees....once again played for Wareham Gateman during summer....began CCBL season by going 0-for-17 at the plate as a part of a 1-for-26 start to the summer....belted 22 home runs to win the Cape Cod League All-Star Game Home Run Derby 7/28 at Wareham.

2006: Hit .339 with six home runs and 44 RBI....Played in 55 games and made 42 starts, including each of the last 26 games of the season at first base....Tech's top hitter in ACC contests, batting .364 with four homes and 21 RBI....Hit first collegiate home run 3/11 vs. Virginia....collected six consecutive multi-hit games 4/9 to 4/19....Tied a school-record with three homers, including a grand slam, while driving in a season-high seven runs in ACC Tournament loss to Clemson 5/27....Named to ACC All-Tournament team....played for Wareham Gateman of Cape Cod League during summer....overcame 0-for-23 drought at start of CCBL season and went 30-for-105 (.286) to finish the summer.

High School: A four-year letter-winner for coach Toby Evans at Eagle's Landing High School....Hit. 446 with eight home runs and 31 RBI as a senior while posting a 1.457 slugging percentage....Named the Henry County Player of the Year as a senior....Played with the Midland Redskins team that won the 2004 Connie Mack World Series....Rated as the No. 12 prospect in the state of Georgia and No. 212 in the nation....Also played two years of basketball at Eagles Landing.....played for East Cobb Braves during summer of 2005.
