April 25, 2003 - Murder-Suicide at Comcast Center Garage
They are the latest in a string of tragedies to hit the College Park campus in the past 20 months, including the deaths of two young men in unrelated drug- or alcohol-abuse incidents at fraternity houses and the deaths of two sisters killed by a tornado that swept through campus.

February 1, 2003 - Lost: Space Shuttle Columbia
Minutes before touching down in Florida, the shuttle Columbia broke apart some 200,000 feet over Texas, killing all seven onboard, including the first Israeli astronaut. The oldest orbiter in the fleet, Columbia had just completed an extra-long 16-day science mission.
