What characteristics of Penn and yourself, make the University a particularly good match for you? Briefly describe how you envision your first year in college. How will you presence be known on campus?

For the past twelve years of my life, I have been striving for a good future. My family moved to the United States of America nine years ago, so that we all could have a chance for a better life. I worked hard in school to get the best grades that I could. I volunteered at a hospital for two summers to gain experience in the working world and to help people. I have struggled hard for many years to have the opportunity to have a good career and a good life. I am convinced that the University of Pennsylvania can help me reach my dreams and goals.

I believe that this university is a good match for me because it outstanding in computer science, the field that I want to go into. From the research that I have done, I have seen that the University of Pennsylvania is very technologically advanced and has a great faculty. Penn offers information and resources to help students get jobs either in its own staff and in other companies. I want to be assured that I will have a job that I would be happy with when I graduate. With Penn's career services, finding a great job, or an internship should be much easier. There are many opportunities available to join groups and clubs that I have been a part of in high school and would like to continue to be a part of. I also have a high appreciation of art and culture and like to visit museums, galleries, and theaters every once in a while. Living in the city of Philadelphia, a great center for the arts, would make it easily possible for me to do so.

I can imagine my first year in college being a great experience. It will be exciting and invigorating at the same time. I can see myself out on my own becoming an adult by being out of my parents' wing. I see college as a step closer to being out in the real world. It will be a lot of studying and becoming accustomed to a new environment. The structure of classes will be a lot different and I will need to learn more things on my own. I will need to make new friends and get along with my roommate. I think that I will be pretty busy my first year of college becoming used to new classes, new people, and new living arrangements. I feel confident living away from home for extended amounts of time, doing things by myself, and just being out on my own without much supervision. I see college as a great experience that will teach me true responsibility.

I will be seen on campus as an outgoing, hard working student. I plan to contribute my time to schoolwork, doing community services, and joining a few clubs that are important to me. I like being outside, so I would probably be seen walking, riding my bike, or doing some other outdoor activity. I am interested in such clubs as peer mediation, to help other people, or a club that promotes creativity, such as writing or drawing. I would like to organize a project to rebuild or restore a community, a building, or a park.

I think that I will thoroughly enjoy my college experience. From what I have seen and heard about the University of Pennsylvania, I see it being able to offer me all of the things that I am interested in. If I attend Penn, I will have the opportunity to learn from the best. With a few more years of studying at Penn, I will have unlimited job possibilities. If given the chance to attend this great university, I will reach one of my most important goals and be one step closer to achieving my dreams.
