Why did you first become interested in William and Mary?

During my junior year in high school, I started looking at colleges more seriously than before, trying to narrow down my choices. The stacks of glossy brochures and videos were just not convincing me that any one college was better than another. I had finally chosen a career and a direction that I wanted to go into, but every day I was sinking further into the bottomless abyss of the ever growing pile of college mail.

Then, on one brave, or hopeless day (whatever you might call it), I took a chance. I invited some similarly afflicted friends and decided to find a college my way. Our first attempt got us nowhere. Blindly leafing through US News & World Report and sticking the college that sent out the best aura with a pin, just left me with a ruined tabletop. Our second try was frantically stopped by our parents. For some reason they objected to us judging the schools by the male to female ratio. But, as they say, "Third try's the charm."

When the clock struck midnight, and the coyote gave out its final howl, we took out the Ouija board. Now, some people might think that this game is a hoax. But I will tell you that many a great question have been solved by the cryptic powers that control this great wonder. Sitting quietly, surrounded by exactly 666 candles, we called on the spirits. At first we were a bit doubtful, with a few giggles escaping our throats. But when we felt the sudden chill in the room, we knew that this was the time for all answers to be revealed. The obvious question was what college would be perfect for each of us. Of course, as all great mysteries, the response was given only with clues. The reply that I got was two letters, W and M, and the pointer was directed south, towards Virginia. How could I not listen to this sign from above?

After this exposing experience, I did some research on the college and saw that, in fact, The College of William and Mary could be a great match for me. It has a great computer science department, is on the east coast (as I prefer), a historical, mystifying place, and most of all, a great college overall. So, my suggestion to those in doubt, turn to the most reliable source available. Turn to the board that is controlled by the spirits above who know all and sometimes tell all. The truth is out there. Trust the Ouija board.
