Central League overview

Midland League

Northern League

The earliest competition called the Central League was one formed in 1896 by, initially six clubs from Fife and Perth, Lochgelly United withdrawing before the season started. Cowdenbeath went on to win the league. Fair City and St Johnstone left for the newly formed Central Combination but were replace by Dundee ‘A’ and Hearts of Beath, while Lochgelly United re-joined. Unfortunately the league was unfinished and the competition subsequently disbanded.
