Resignations

Renton were suspended by the SFA for professionalism on 30 September 1890, and so the League had to do likewise after they had played only four games. They rejoined the League for the 1891-92 season after their suspension was lifted.

Bo’ness, on 12 November 1932, and Armadale, on 3 December 1932 were both expelled during the season for not meeting the gate guarantees. Their records were expunged on 5 April 1933 and no subsequent re-elections were held.

Leith Athletic were expelled on 28 August 1953 for refusing to fulfil any ‘C’ Division games. They were protesting at the refusal of the Scotish League to expand ‘B’ Division by promoting the ‘C’ Division clubs.
