While surfing the net, I have come across several great links to help teachers locate resources and references that they can use for their classes, or for themselves. I will be updating them as I come across more that I feel should be included. If you know of any that should be added, please send me a note and I'll update the list so others can make use of them as well.

  1. A Guide to the Internet for Teachers

    This page has been made to help teachers (and other interested grown-ups) see some ways in which kids are using the World Wide Web today. The hope is that these examples will also provide a good starting point for thinking about how technology is going to influence the schools, teachers, and teaching of the future.

    College Search page, direct connection to schools in the database, help creating your profile to send to colleges and more.

  3. CSNet's Educational Collection!

    A homepage dedicated to Educational Resources. Math, Astronomy, Astrophysics, plus a whole lot more!

  5. Helping Your Child Learn Math

    Activities for children aged 5 through 13, from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement.

  6. ILTweb, Institute for Learning Technologies at Columbia University

    As part of the university's Virtual Information Initiative, ILT is working with technology to "empower the creative reform of education."

  7. Internet For Educators reference page

    Contains links to some nice references and curriculum resources for teachers.

  8. Internet Public Library

    An ambitious effort to create a public library for Internet users. The site features links to Net resources in a variety of subject areas, an interactive reference area, and a young people's area. The Internet Public Library is a creation of students at the University of Michigan School of Information and Library Studies.

  9. Kidscom

    Spectracom has a site just for your 8-12 year old! He or she can spray paint electronic "graffiti" on a "virtual" wall, write to Pen Pal, enter a "Kids Contest" and more.

  10. Kids on the Web

    This is an on-going list of sites that offer information for and about kids. Among other things, it includes a lot of stuff for them to play with, information for adults, and some info about about K-12 schools, education, etc.
