I am an advanced open water diver (2 starts) since July 20 1996. I'm registered at the Israeli Diving Federation, which is an affiliate of

CMAS CMAS-World Underwater Federation

Until now, all my dives were in Eilat. Eilat is the southest city in Israel and it is located at the shore of the Red Sea. It's Israel's NO. 1 tourist city and its main attraction is the sea. The Red Sea has a beautiful coral reef. The Red Sea is very deep and anything that falls down (like sand or dead fishes) never come back up. Because of that the water is very clear and suitable for corals to grow. Corals also need a steady warm temperature of the water which could be found in the Red Sea. If you want to know more about the Red Sea, you should check out a page called Red Sea Diving .

The Red Sea is not the only place in which you can dive in Israel. There is also the Mediterranean Sea. There is no coral reef there or beautiful fishes but there are some archiological sites and some nice caves. I realy recommend you to come to Israel for diving. It has a lot of diving sites and attractions. If you want to come to Israel to dive, you should know the procedures involved in it and you might also want to know about Israel's diving sites and clubs, so check out Diving in Israel for more information and for the technical details.

As you can see in this page, diving is a very beautiful experience (by the way, these photos are not mine, they are all taken from SCUBA - 1 International Dive Club). The underwater world is a place that resembel nothing on land. The beauty of the underwater world is astonishing. The silence is joining to the experience to create a very magical atmosphere. It is very easy to relax and forget all your troubles down there. Floating in the water and seeing all the amazing sites is a feeling that can't be described in words, you must do it on your own, just then you can understand why so many people love to dive.

If you want to have a very unique experience but you are not a diver, don't worry. Many diving clubs are offering an introductory dive. In this dive, you dive with a guide to a depth of 7m (23 feet). Before the dive you are taught some very basic stuff, like how to clean your mask and regulator. You don't have to worry about a thing, you can relax and enjoy the beautty of the underwater world. If you liked it you can go and learn how to dive and become an open water diver (1 star). In an open water course you learn all the basics things you have to know in order to dive and survive underwater.

Personally I recommend you to do an advanced open water course. Such a course give you more then just the basic tools and techniques for diving. In an advanced open water course you also learn how to know your way in the water, how to plan a dive and how to navigate. You also have a very special dive: a night dive. At night, the water are dark and it feels like floating in space. The plankton (the microorganisms in the water) glow in a green light, looking like stars. Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut? Here is your chance. A night dive is an experience that you will not forget quickly.
