DISCLAIMER(10/15/98): I wanted to personally CONDEMN the actions of the past week regarding the death of Matthew Shepard. This was a cruel and SENSELESS crime. But even worse is the results of this crime. The amount of HATRED that is being spewed forth by both sides of the issue is terrible. I do not believe that God had anything to do with the death of Matthew. But on the other hand, Satan comes to lie, cheat and destroy. Who gains the most benefit out of Matthew's death? I don't believe it is those 'radical right-wing Christians' now is it. If anything, this sheds a bad light on them, even worse than it was perceived to be previously! So I ask you, why would the Christian movement shoot themselves in the foot to kill one poor soul? THEY DID NOT!! This crime had NOTHING to do with the Christian movement. In fact, the Christian movement was rather quiet on the subject of homosexuality until recently when the homosexual movement started demanding 'special rights'. This is when the Christians said NO. They did not start a campaign of hatred, but a campaign of the truth. But to them that are blind, the truth will be hidden. There are many people within the church calling themselves Christians, just as there were in the days of Jesus. But calling oneself a Christian and living like one are two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT stories! Just as not all homosexuals are HATEFUL people, not all Christians are hateful. To lump all of us together in the same group makes you just as guilty as you claim we are.
STOP THE HATE! STOP THE VIOLENCE AGAINST GAYS, CHRISTIANS, BLACKS, WHITES EVERYONE!!!
The only thing this Christian hates is SIN! And Hatred is a SIN!
