Harmony Award

The Golden Heart Society gives the Harmony Award to honor those Web sites that, by their content, function, or example, significantly foster and promote interpersonal harmony, good will, and respect for human dignity with a spirit of helpfulness and concern.

This is most clearly achieved when a Web site disseminates information that is intended to increase understanding, dispel myth, instruct, encourage, or otherwise edify people in a way that will be likely to augment or enrich the quality of life for some. Such would be done as a public service, altruistically.

Nomination for the Harmony Award is appropriate for any site that attempts in good faith to be helpful in any way. Very common helpful features, however, such as providing access to a Web search engine, are not themselves adequate. The Harmony Award Honored Web site is helpful to a higher degree than is commonly and widely experienced on the Web.
