We need your help. There are millions of smokers, tens of thousands of them online, but only a handful are active. By working together, we can make a real difference.
Unfortunately, it is time consuming to safe guard personal freedoms and individual rights, and most working adults with families have precious little time in any given week, to make the effort. Consequently the "anti-whatever-nazis" keep running our lives according to their principles.
EASY PETITIONS is the answer.
The idea is for our Internet Smokers Network, along with other represented groups of smokers, to speak in unison -- with the volume of many voices. The more voices, the more likely we are to be heard. This can be done through on-line petitions or letters signed en masse.
When the banking industry proposed a program called "Know Your Customer", which threatened an invasion of privacy, a call went out over the internet for people to protest. Nearly a quarter of a million responses were received and the initiative was killed.
It can work -- but numbers count!
All you have to do to take part is fill in your name, address and email address. That’s it. Sign up one time and we’ll do the work for you. Whenever something comes up which needs our input or response, we will prepare an appropriate petition and send it off with the names of all registered participants attached to let our views be known and impress the receivers that we are united and mean business.

#1. -- HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I’LL BE SIGNING MY NAME TO?
| The ONLY thing your “signature” will be connected with, are our petitions / letters in favor of smokers rights or other issues effecting us in general. The only people who will see it are the ones receiving our petitions. Your name will NOT be sold or otherwise used or published. |
#2. -- HOW DO I KNOW WHAT PETITIONS I WILL BE SIGNING?
| All petitions / letters will be posted on the "Current Petition" link below. with the deadline date, before they are sent so you can check them out. If, for some reason, you should NOT wish to participate in a particular petition, just Email me and your name will be removed from that particular petition -- or from ALL future petitions if you no longer wish to participate. |
#3. -- HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN THERE IS A NEW PETITION?
| Check back here frequently -- there will always be at least one week between the time a petition is posted and when it is sent (Deadline). I always post notices of new petitions on NSA's "SpeakEasy" and SFD's ONElist will also keep you informed as to when a new petition / letter is being launched, so you will always be able to "click" your way directly to the latest events.

#4. -- WHO ARE THE PETITIONS GOING TO?
| Our petitions / letters will be sent to the specific policy makers, who we have determined hold direct affect, in their jurisdiction, on the petition issue... in short, to anyone whose words or actions affect smokers rights. A list of those a petition is "Directed To", is always on the current petition itself. If you have someone in mind you think a petition should be sent to let us know via the email link above and we will consider it.. After being sent, petitionss can be viewed in the Archive area.
