History of Castle Mordor
The land that Castle Mordor was built on was once just farm land that the Mordor ancesters resided on.  For several generations the men of the family were warriors in the king's army and served their land well.  But five generations later, Kain Mordor became a vampire.  For this he was shunned by his people and cast from the land by his king.
Kain was enraged and swore vengence, leaving the land and raising his own army.  Kain later returned and killed the king himself, along with most of the people living on the land.  The few people that escaped did not get far and he had them dragged back and told them that their only chance to survive was to serve him.  In fear for their lives, they swore loyalty to him and became his slaves.
Soon later, Castle Mordor was built and Kain gave the people their freedom but they had to remain to keep the castle in ordor.  Kain spent years conquering other clans and kingdoms and later made another castle the center of his empire, barely ever coming to Castle Mordor anymore, much to the relief of the servents.  Kain seemed to have everything he needed, an empire, land, castles, riches, women, and an heir, Azazel Blackmane.
But Kain thought Azazel was far too human and far too much like his mother, and was still unsatisfied with his power.  So he hired a powerful mage and his underlings and brought them with him to Castle Mordor.  He put them to work day and night, not letting them rest until they passed out from exhuastion.  Their goal...to make him more offspring.
They would make him more heirs that would live at Castle Mordor until he had use for them.  But they were not made as humans or vampires, they were made as Gargoyles.  Not born, made.  Grown from Kain's blood, bone, and skin.  They were made at differant rates, the first one was a female that was named Diana Mordor.
Diana was the first of 40 Gargoyle offspring and Kain saw more of himself in her than in any of the others.  Diana and her rookery siblings were kept at Castle Mordor for most of their lives.  The servants stayed and kept the castle in ordor as the Gargoyles grew and became warriors, guarding the castle against the most dangerous of enemies.
Even though the people that served in the castle hated and feared the gargoyles, they had to admit that those were the best

years of Castle Mordor.  Gargoyles would fill the sky with their songs, laughter, and at time, battle cries.  The human servents hated the Gargoyles even when the Gargoyles treated the humans with nothing but kindness and respect.  The Gargoyles were shunned in their own home, but not openly or when Kain or any of his men were around.
Diana, the eldest of the Gargoyle offsping, was their leader.  She led them with an iron will while in battle but loved them all dearly.  Despite how many there were and despite the problems with humans, they were all very close.  Each sibling watched out for the others and could speak with eachother about anything.  And except for a few attacks from those wishing reveange on Kain, and from those who just did not like gargoyles, their lives were peaceful.
Then 35 years after the first one was created, and by the time the youngest of them was half grown, the gargoyles received a letter from Azazel Blackmane, the oldest and the only sibling they had never met.  The letter said that Azazel was coming to visit his ancestral home and the brothers and sisters he had never met.  The letter gave them instructions to leave the gates unlocked so that he could slip in past the servants unnoticed and have a quiet and peaceful visit.
Being young and foolish, Diana allowed it.  One of the younger Gargoyles snuck down to the gates at night and left it unlocked, making sure none of the humans saw him.  The Gargoyles awaited their brother's arrival but late into the night most of the younger ones were tired and Diana told them to sleep, promising to wake them up when he arrived.  Very late into the night, Diana was one of the few left awake and she wandered the halls impatiently.
As she approached a window several strong hands reached in and grabbed her, dragging her out of the window, out of the gates, and accross the fields.  By the time they had stopped dragging her she was dazed from lack of oxygen and bruised and scratched.  When she looked up her eyes widened in shock for they met those of her brother, Azazel Blackmane.
Then she was knocked out and dragged away.  'Azazel' spent leisurely hours setting the castle on fire and killing the human servents, making the Gargoyle children witness their failure to protect their home.  When Diana finally woke,
