What exactly is the channel #Filgaia?
The IRC channel #Filgaia is located on
the Mirc-X IRC
server and is
dedicated to the Japanimation-based Manga, Anime, and video game
of Wild ARMs, and Wild ARMs 2: Second Ignition. The channel name
of #Filgaia is derived from the main 'World' in the whole Wild ARMs
plot, and is the base setting for all the scene in it ^_^;;. Don't
worry, the
people in there don't only talk about Wild ARMs... but trust me
they can
get a lil crazee sometimes, hehe. WARNING:
IRC is very Addictive.
How do I get started chatting?
It's basically easy. All one needs is a internet connection, and
an IRC.
MAC users: You can download the IRC program called ircle. Now that you have the software, you need to connect! First you add the
It's especially for MAC users. Download the most
recent version, & follow the READ ME directions.
Windows : Download mIRC which is popular for all Window
user kids. Download the 32bit one for Windows
95/98/NT users. Windows 3.x users use 16bit.
Unix/Dial up: It doesn't matter what OS it is.. Linux, IRIX, BDS,
etc., just type "irc" in the prompt window to get on
IRC. The format you wanna type is:
$ irc YourNick irc.ais.com:6667
If type "irc" doesn't work, try "bitchx" or "epic".
What are all these signs next to the channel members' names?
Depending on the sign, they have different meanings. There's 3
different varieties. The first one is at the bottom of the list,
with no
symbol next to it, it's just the plain ol' nick all by itself. That
just means
it's a simple visitor to the channel, and has no authority or special
place. The next one up is the plus sign "+" next to a nickname.
This
means that they had the mode of "+v" set, and the "+v" means they are
officially "voiced". When you are voiced, you can talk whenever you
are in a channel and it is moderated (muted), or you can talk in a
channel when you're nick or mask is banned... but not kicked.
The top and best level is the "@" sign next to a nick. Having the
"@"
means that someone has the mode set of "+o". When you get "+o" it
is recognized as a channel operator. This is the highest status in
any
given channel, and you usually have to earn your "@". Operators have
the power to "kick"(Kick a nick/person) out of the channel. They
can
also "ban"(A nick/person cannot enter) people from the channel.
Depending also on their level of "access", they can also set "akicks" to
masks. A-kick is an automatic kicking every time someone joins a
chan.
It basically means you're REALLY hated in there ^^;;.
Well kiddies, there's plenty more you
could ask and I could sit
here and type away about, but I dun
feel like it ^_^. Just join the
channel and if you need more assisstance,
you'll get it there.
