Hi, my name is Monica. I'm 19 (do I feel old) and currently a freshman at Texas Tech University. It was hard at first to leave all my friends and my little old high school to come to this strange place, but I guess it's part of growing up.
Honestly, I really like it now. It took a little while to get adjusted to college life, but it's really worth it. I am a chemical engineering major in the college of engineering. I didn't think I liked it at the beginning of this year, but after a semester, I believe that's what I want to do.
There isn't that much about me. I came from China about ummm... 6 years ago. I really miss my family, and we are planning for a trip to visit them one of these days. More about my family in the "family" page. And there's my baby brother Nick. He was born in 2000, and we are almost 18 years apart. Yes, he is a quite spoiled child, especially by his older sister. :)
I'm still trying to think of all the things about me. Okay, here is a little bragging for all the stuff I done in high school. Not that anyone cares anymore, but here it is:
I was in band for all 4 years and played the flute. Tried out for all-region, all-area. And finally made 1st chair All-State my senior year. That took some painful practice.
My senior year I placed pretty high in state Business Professionals of America competitive events, and went on to Nationals and placed top 10 in Financial Math/Analysis. Nationals was fun, we get to go to Disney World.
And I graduated Valedictorian of my class.
That's the major high school stuff I've done. Of course there are others but I don't want to bore you with it. Okay, I don't want to type all that, either. So.
