Luke Norton Green none with contact vetoes with contact vetoes First, I would like to thank you very much for the opportunity to voice my opinion on the topic of adoption legislation. I have no personal connection to adoption, although I have had acquaintances in the past that were adoptees. I think that providing people with the ability to learn about where they came from is very important to that individual’s well being. As well as a record of birth, I want adoptees to be able to learn of their birth family’s medical history, which is very important in determining history of illness and genetic disposition towards health problems. I do believe it is very important for individuals (birth parents and adoptees) to have the right to determine whether or not they wish to be contacted by the other party. Without this kind of privacy protection, people might be less likely to choose adoption as an option in a time of desperation, and this would be an unfortunate mistake.
