Wien, Wien nur du allein..

More Lovely Weather
Ahhhhh, Vienna. What can I say? We were very lucky to be staying with the Stojevic family, who were exceedingly kind, and fed us very well, on top of that. Strangely enough, we have very few pictures of Vienna. Why? Well, have you ever tried taking pictures of your home. It's strange. And of course, Vienna is beautiful. We walked all around town, sat in a cafe on Graben (the carrot juice was really good), watching some street musicians perform Spanish music, and visited lots of museums. These being the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Secession (they painted it a hideous red to mark the 100th anniversary-what were they thinking?), and the Kunsthaus. They were all very nice. I had forgotten how beautiful the former was, and it was fun to see the original paintings of the Spanish princess, of which we saw the Picasso versions earlier. We all saw a women fall down the stairs, which was not very nice. The Secession had an interesting selection of paintings and of course the Beethoven Friese (sp?). And the Kunsthaus was Hundertwasser, not surprisingly. Actually, there was a Picasso exhibition as well, but we opted to see the regular exhibition. Interesting, I should imagine, for first time visitors. All very wonderful. Oh, and I got to see my friends, some of whom later played volleyball in front of the Rathaus. While we were there, the weather was exceedingly hot. Again, I have run out of things to say. Oh, we also ate Krapfen and Mozart Kugeln. And became addicted to both-maybe I should just speak to myself. In which case it would be incorrect to say that I became addicted. I already was and still am. I like to consider myself something of a Krapfen connoisseur. Not to be forgotten is the good icecream. I think the shop was on the road that leads from the Schwedenplatz U-bahn station to Graben-is that Rotenturmstrasse? I can't remember. I highly recommend it. A very large selection of flavours-the Italian kind. Well, that about covers it. We walked a lot, nothing unusualy, and basked in the sun.
