"MacGyverisms"

Old tires and
dirty rims

Here are a couple of great ideas from Thomas Garcia

Do your rims need cleaning? Tired of those unsightly black rubber deposits?

Go down to your hardware store and get some of the fine steel wool that painters use. It's real good at taking off that nasty crust, and it leaves your rims satiny clean!

While you're at it, use a little sandpaper to clean any aluminum of the surface of the brake pads as well. your brakes will stop a lot better too!

Has one of your inner tubes finally given up the ghost? Tom suggests getting some zip ties and wrapping the old rubber around your chainstay. "works better than 'LizardSkins' [chainstay protectors]", and for a lot less money! Thanks for those tips, Tom!

Another use for old innertubes are as extra-large bungie cords. just get some small "S" hooks and crimp them around the old tubes.

THESE ARE GREAT! ANY MORE?-->
