The real world sucks right now. It sucks so, so badly, for so, so many reasons.
Despite my numerous, noisy complaints about the many ways in which the world sucks, not much is changing in a hurry. And so, for me at least, there has to be something else. Some place else.
I want a place where I can boldly go where no one has gone before on a regular basis. I want to live in a world with Vorlons. Vorlons are cool. I want a world of angst and UST, and a big fat reset button I can push whenever I want. I want a world where people only die because some actor wants to focus on her movie career. I want a world of Borg Queens and Triumvirates and Shadows, where the boundaries between good and evil are nice and fuzzy. I want to live in a world where the only thing not tolerated is intolerance.
A world of ambiguity and creativity, music and mayhem.
It may not be much, but it's fun, and it's mine. Welcome.
