Romantic comedy from 1961. Directed by Blake Edwards, starring Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard and also starring Martin Balsam and Mickey Rooney. Breakfast at Tiffany's was nominated for five academy awards in 1962. It's Oscar-winning score, with songs like Moon River, was by Henry Mancini.

Hepburn plays Holly Golightly, a young, high-priced escort who dreams of finding a rich older man to marry. A young, struggling writer, played by George Peppard, moves into her apartment block and so begins the romance.

John Frankenheimer was originally hired to shoot the film with Marilyn Monroe. The book's author Truman Capote had created the character with her in mind. When Audrey Hepburn replaced Monroe, she insisted that the director be replaced because she had never heard of him!

Costumes for the film are by Edith Head. Hepburn's princess dress was designed by Givenchy.

"The only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's." Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
