Born in Lovero, Italy, Carla Zampatti started designing fresh and flattering styles in 1965. She started her career from her home in Australia. Her famous and most popular outfit was a pant-suit created in French velvet material. The outfit was tight on the body and the top of the legs, but belled from there down. The Jacket was a collarless, V-neck which buttoned down the front. Heavy lace was attached around the neck and sleeves for a regency effect.
