Varsity Scholastic Bowl Roster

Okay, this is everyone I know who's going out for Scholastic Bowl this year. As you can see, it's rather slim pickings, so, if any of you cerebrally enhanced Juniors or Seniors(Or sophomores; we have a history of bumping up one underclassman each year) feel free to E-mail me to be a part of the great Mongol Horde that is Fenwick Scholastic Bowl. If you come across here and want to make or change your profile, E-mail me for that, too. And now, for the lineups.....

Colby "The Franchise" Burnett, Senior

Official Marist Red Hawk hunter, member of the scholastic bowl since its existance, perhaps the only person on the planet who would see a Temptations concert opened by Pantera. Attempts to know everything but math, except the most basic questions("A truck travels 360 miles in 12 hours, what is it's speed?" "30 miles per hour? YES!) Takes the game WAY too seriously at times(has been benched on two occasions by Mr. Draski), and hungry to get back that title Marist screwed the team out of.

Stephanie Maras, Senior

The fearless leader and other returning Senior for Fenwick Scholastic Bowl, Steph was a former IMSA slave--err, student who returned for the latter part of the season last year. 80s music fanatic(helpful at Von Stueben and Richards) and obviously more calm than the former Senior. Proved incredibly proficient as captain during the "purge" before the Von Stueben Tournament. Mistress of knowledge in astronomy, biology, and various things that the others don't bother to know. When all this is added with speed, she has a strong arsenal of info to use.

Tom Zacharia, Senior

The X-factor on the team this year. Groomed by Mr. Finnell to be the team's resident math expert after the untimely departure of Bill Finn(graduated, it had to happen sometime). Quite frankly, the best hope for dominating all things Math-related.

Pericles "The Future" Abbasi, Junior

Former Junior Varsity captain and sophomore bump-up tries to find even more playing time on the Varsity team. Served as a great replacement for Colby during the Richards Tournament(darn church retreats you can't get out of...). Very good at giving WAY too much information to get an answer, but hey, it works. Will become an even more integral member of the team in the upcoming year. Also of note, Pericles has begun his campaign for Student Body President.

Scott Kniaz, Junior

Tom Kelly, Junior

Mike Vasta, Sophomore

Ed Dudek, Sophomore

Tim Rodts, Sophomore

A.J. Lisy, Sophomore

Mike Beltran, Sophomore

John Chambers, Sophomore

Now it all gets fuzzy... come on, smart Friars, get off your butts and... ah, who am I kidding? Umm... join so you can have something good to put on your college aps! YEAH! And we have one more addition, last, but certainly not least...

Our Fearless Leader, Mr. Draski!

Took over the reins of Fenwick Scholastic Bowl after arriving from a long tenure at St. Laurence High School. Swiftly metes out punishment to those offending the ScoBowl Gods(ask Colby, he'll tell you all about it). Has a two year record of 73-18, including an IHSA regional championship and a league championship(should be two, dang it) and with all hope, we'll get him 100 wins this year.

Our Captains Emeritus

Rishi Kapoor, Class of 1998

Ziyad Nuwayhid, Class of 1999

Vijay Menon, Class of 2000
