GOD GRANTS ME LIFE EACH DAY

SURVIVING THROUGH CANCER

I have always had a strong bond with God and his Angels
and even some of my own Angels.
Even though my father was not a church person himself;
he would always take us to church on Sunday mornings
at the First Baptist Church of Geneva,
Illinois, where Dr. Culver was minister.
I still have the bible I won for knowing the 10 commandments,
The Lord's Prayer and could name all the books in the Bible.
As I grew older and moved to another church,
I was baptized in the Christian Church of Batavia, Illinois.
I was 16 at the time, and my mother was really upset with me
for a long time for doing something
like that without telling her.
But it was the right decision
for me.



MY FAITH IN GOD NEVER DIES!!!

All of us have fond thoughts
Of prayers that have been answered in our lives.
They have kept my Faith strong
as their marks are always on our minds.



God was with me when my first baby was born with cerebral palsy.
Through the years, God carried him many times
as he learned to walk with crutches and went through so
many surgeries to help strengthen his legs
so he could at least walk with aids.

Today, that boy is 33 years old, holding down a job --
trying to find a woman who could love him despite his disability.

GOD IS LOVE

God was with me with the raising of my 2nd child ..
a girl who put me through a lot as a teenager,
but has given me two beautiful little girls
for granddaughters.

I lived through a 'battered wife's' situation
in my short marriage of 2 years; but all these years of feeling inadequate
in the terms of being able to be loved as a regular person is.

There was only one person who I truly loved
and who loved me without reservation.
I had only 8 short years with him;
the best years of my life.

BE READY TO STOP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS

I have been 5 years without a voice now
due to Cancer of the Larynx.
I often have said that God only gives us
what He thinks we can carry.
Also, there is a lesson to be learned
through each step He has us take.
In the hands of God -
If it is meant to be,
it will happen,
I do believe that!!

I seem to be carrying on way too long;
but when I start talking about my faith in the Almighty;
then I can ramble on a bit.
My own slogan has been:

BY THE GRACE OF GOD - I LIVE EACH DAY.
