Paul Michael Glaser Bio & Appearances

Paul was born Paul Manfred Glaser on March 25, 1943 in Cambridge, MA. His father was an architect and his mother had an executive job in a major Boston hosptial. Paul's sister Priscilla was in local theatre and that influenced him quite a bit. After performing in school productions, Paul got the acting bug. Paul first studied in New Orleans where he earned a Master's Degree in English, then on to Harvard to earn a Master's Degree in acting. Paul spent five seasons performing in summer stock and gained much experience in the meantime. Paul also had a variety of odd jobs including a waiter and bartender. While in New York, Paul appeared in "Man In a Glass Booth" and "Butterflies Are Free" on Broadway. He then left to New York for Hollywood where he made numerous TV show apprearances on such shows as "Kojak", "The Waltons", and "Streets of San Francisco". Paul then auditioned for "Starsky & Hutch", going up against hundreds of candidates. The chemistry with David Soul as "Hutch" was perfect and Paul got cast as Det. Sgt. Dave Starsky. Paul started getting involved in directing during the run of the show. He directed several episodes, as did David Soul. After the run of Starsky & Hutch, Paul had continued to be very involved in directing and producing. His latest starring role was in the USA Network film titled "Ladies Night" in 2005. Paul is also still actively involved with directing, producing, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics Aids Foundation. He also has his own website which you can visit at www.paulmichaelglaser.org.
