The house I was
born in.

I remember during the war years the sirens
going during the night, and my mother taking me down to
the shelter out side, I used to look out at the search
lights and the bombers in the sky.
Later on the
Government evacuated us to Morley, near Leeds.
Sat on my Moms knee, in the garden.

Peter and Eddie
sat with our mother Sarah.
Peter joined the RAF when
he was aged 17 years old.
He had two sons and one
daughter.
He finished up as a warrant officer and
became a physical training officer, he stayed in the
RAF, and was in the mountain rescue branch until he was
45 years old, then he got a job in the lake district at
a outward bound school, training young people in
mountain climbing etc.
He was married twice.

Doug was born Nov 17TH 1933.
This photo was
taken in New Zealand,
he emigrated there and stayed
for two years before coming back to England, to marry
Moira.
He had two children Ian and Andrea.
Ian
went to University and became a lecturer in History
Doug after
receiving his degree in political science, with Moira
his wife.
After coming back from New Zealand Doug
went to work for the Royal London Insurance Company in
Manchester were he ended up as the Manager.
He died
in 1997 aged 63 years
