I researched
the cargo of the "BEN MACHDUI" and found that it was
carrying a GENERAL CARGO, this obviously interested us,
so we decided to to go and have a look at it. When
we arrived at the site, it took me a couple of hours to
find the wreck (we only used the old DECCA 12 in those
days, plus a magnetometer)We dropped a weight and buoy
on the wreck site once we found it, and Jeb and Roy went
down to have a look to see what they could find. After
about 30 minutes Jeb came up and shouted that it was
like a gold field down there, he said it was littered
with WHITE METAL INGOTS (95% TIN)BRASS BARS, COPPER
WIRE,SOLDER BARS, AND LOADS OF OTHER GOODIES. I got
myself kitted up and went down to have a look, it was
littered with what Jeb had said, plus MINES,
TORPEDOES,SHELLS, etc, etc Look at the following
pictures. The FAME WAS USED FIRST THEN WE USED THE
"MV ASHBY"
