"Orchids in the Park"
This year's event was sponsored by the Gold Coast, North Dade and Miramar Orchid Societies. There were 11 amateur club sellers with over 1,000 plants available at bargain prices. From awarded hybrids to exotic and rare orchid species, the fair had it all.
Miramar President Frank Crabb sold supplies and even custom built clips and stakes. Gold Coast member Helen Schwartz conducted classes throughout the day. Everyone answered questions asked by the hundreds of fair visitors.
Members from each club brought in beautiful show plants which were put on display. Ken & Doug served up hot dogs and Karen made a special trip to Subway for hungry members. The fair was a big success and Gold Coast recruited 21 new members.
