This is my Laddie. He was mink banded with short hair. His mom was Damsel and dad was Nikolas. He was born on January 17, 1999 and had 11 siblings. He died June 21, 2001. He was one of my favorite hamsters because of his especially sweet temperment. He was also special to me because he was odd eyed. (meaning that he has one VERY dark red eye (looks black) and one bright red eye)
Laddie's genes were: C_eeppUuBa_Ll As always, the _ means I don't know what gene goes there. The 'C' is what would be white if it was c*d. I don't know if he has c*d but his mother did. 'e' is the cream gene. 'p' is the cinnamon gene. 'U' is the umbros gene. What mink is is umbros red eyed cream. Red eyed cream is written 'eepp'. The 'Ba' is the banded gene. Banded is dominant so a hamster only needs one banded gene to make the band show. Both Laddie's parents are banded, but they were both pet store hamsters so I don't know what their parents were so I cannot know if Laddie has 2 banded genes with out breeding him to a solid female, which I don't have.
Laddie was a father. He sired 8 babies. You can find out more about that litter on Katie's page. All the babies looked to be perfectly healthy, normal and sweet.
