Chapter 19: Grinder
August
2, UC 0087. 0430 hours Zulu. Somewhere
over the jungles of New Guinea. "This
is Blinder 1, we are in position," Lieutenant Olivia Sondergard reported
as her Jet Booster Kai began to loiter over the airspace twenty miles north of
Port Moresby, "No hostiles in the area as of yet, awaiting
instructions." "Sit
tight Liv, and stick with the plan," Jean suggested over the radio,
"They are going to pass right over your position in about twenty minutes,
and remember, we only need you to take down those transports. Don't try to be a
hero and start taking them all on by yourself. The Major has already gotten his
ADVs online, and they should be more than enough to handle those planes.
Understood?" "Yes
sir," Liv replied as she barely stifled a yawn, and wishing that she could
have another cup of coffee to help her fight off her sleepiness... "But
sir, between me and Gordon, I don't think we can take down as many of those
Mideas as you'd like, so I hope..." "Don't
worry about us Liv, just take care of yourself," Jean replied, almost
comfortingly, "We're ready for them down here." --------------- "How
many Mobile Suits are back online?" Yoko demanded as she boarded her
Zugock E2, "Everything in working order?" "Yun's
Nemo and all five of our GM IIs are fully operational," O'Connor
responded, "However, the Rick Dias is too badly damaged, and according to
the engineers they're going to need some spare parts from the O'Bannon to make
it combat ready again..." "The
Barzam?" Yoko asked, straight to the point. "The
engineers have found a spare head for it, but they still have to calibrate its
optics," O'Connor replied, "But mam, even if they do get the work
done we won't have anybody to pilot it, unless you'd want me to..." "Tell
the engineers to concentrate on the Barzam and leave the Rick Dias for
now," Yoko ordered as she started closing the Zugock's cockpit doors,
"Forget about the pilot though, I'll be needing that Barzam as a
spare." "But
mam, we only have seven Mobile Suits," O'Connor reminded, "Wouldn't
it be wiser to deploy all of our available Mobile Suits to..." "I
said, I'll be needing a spare, end of discussion," Yoko repeated. Before
O'Connor could respond, the cockpit doors sealed themselves shut, and his further
protests fell on deaf ears. He muttered a curse as Yoko's Zugock began to move
out. "A
****ing spare?!" O'Connor muttered as he locked his eyes on Yoko's
departing Mobile suit, wanting to vent out some anger at that stupid,
inconsiderate *****, "And just how likely are you going to need a damn
****ing spare?!" Just
about as likely as a certain thing going out on a limb to save its friend, my
dear O'Connor, Yoko thought with a smile, knowing that O'Connor was probably
wondering about this particular detail. And if my guess is right, that's
something that's very likely to happen indeed... --------------- Damn
you Yoko... Sylvie thought as she pressed her ear against the door, listening
for any sound, and hating herself for doing so. She hated herself for letting
herself become Yoko's pet, even if it was only for a while, but her...
"better" side had prevailed yet again. She simply couldn't risk
harming John, and the sooner she could get him away from Yoko, the better. ****,
Sylvie thought as she heard a noise. Somebody's still out there, probably a
guard, and she didn't think he'd look too kindly on her if she tried to escape,
no matter her intent. She decided to switch to Plan B. She had
already fashioned a makeshift rope out of her bed sheets, and now she began
tying it to the nearest fixed post from the window. She muttered as curse as
she felt her back itch, doubtless the result of her now dirty clothes and going
several days without bathing, and she made a note to find some half-decent clothes
before she went out. She didn't want any distractions once the shooting
started. She
quickly peered out the window from her second-story room and found the coast to
be clear. Even better, she also spotted "her" Barzam in a repair bay close
by, and it still seemed to be unmanned at the moment. Deciding to risk it,
Sylvie threw the rope out the window and started rappelling down the building's
wall, keeping her eyes peeled for any guards. None arrived before she hit the
ground. So far,
so good... Sylvie thought as she landed on the ground, before quickly pressing
her back against the wall to minimize her visibility. Noticing a nearby window,
she decided to take a peek inside. Though the chances were slim, she had not
forgotten that Ming was in the same hospital as she was, and if she could have
an opportunity to send him off his way this time... Gina
had just opened her eyes in shock as she woke up from another nightmare. Biting
her lips in regret as she was reminded once again of what she had done, she
looked out the window and felt herself wanting to cry. Her eyes suddenly went
wide as she saw a face staring at her through the window. --------------- "Nikki,
will you PLEASE stop following me around," John muttered as he noticed
that the crazy witch was once again making him the hapless object of her undivided
attention, "Colonel Mason is going to be pretty angry at you again." "I'm
NOT following you around Mr. Recto!" Nikki replied defensively, "It's
just that the skipper is saying that the U-557 is ready to head back to the
sea, and he was just wondering whether the 606 is ready to follow." Yeah,
and I bet you insisted on delivering the message... John thought tiredly to
himself as he scratched his forehead, "Tell the skipper the 606 will be
delayed for a while. We still have to pick up those parts they managed to
salvage from those two derelict ships, and from what I hear it may take a while
to load all those components." "You...
aren't also waiting for that Sylvie are you Mr. Recto?" Nikki asked,
looking almost terrified, "From what I hear, she's dangerous, and if she's
going to be coming with us..." "Don't
worry Nikki, she's not that dangerous," John replied tiredly, amazed at
how simple minded this sonar woman was. You'd almost think she was still a ten
year old... "We go way back. And I'm pretty sure she's harmless.
Relatively speaking anyway." "But
how can you be sure?!" Nikki pressed on, "I mean... you... and
her..." "Just
trust me Nikki," John replied with an almost sad smile, "Because if I
have to tell you everything, it's going to be a long story..." --------------- "Now,
are you going to stop screaming, or am I going to have to silence you
permanently?" Sylvie threatened as she kept her palm pressed firmly
against the female prisoner's mouth, her angry face now hovering inches away
from the Titan's. The frightened woman quickly responded with a nod. "Good..."
Sylvie answered as she moved her palm off the woman's mouth, who thankfully
remained silent, "Now remember this very well. I was never here, and if
you say anything to another soul, I will hunt you down and kill you,
understood?" "U...
understood," Gina replied nervously, wondering who the hell this...
person, was. She unconsciously let her curiosity get the better of her and
asked a question, "Who... who are you?" "My
name is not important," Sylvie replied as she looked into the woman's
eyes, surprised that this... Titan was somewhat interested in her identity. She
was probably more naive than she had imagined, "And if you are smart, you
won't ask this question again. Do you have any spare clothes?" "I...
I think there is a spare pilot suit in the cabinet but..." Gina started,
before pausing, unsure if she should continue, "But what are you doing
here? Are you a prisoner like me? Are you here to...?" "Yes,
I am prisoner," Sylvie replied as she headed for the cabinet, deciding to
lecture this little girl on how the world really is, "But I am not one of
you. Ever since what your dastardly organization has done to me, I have sworn
never return to serve your kind again." "What....
what do you mean?" Gina asked, the fear creeping into her voice as she
remembered what that AEUG soldier had told her, "What... what did they...
we... do to you?" "You
really are that naive, aren't you?" Sylvie accused as she opened the
cabinet and found what looked to be a clean Titans pilot suit inside. And one
that looked to be about her size as well, "Have you ever heard of genetic
manipulation and Newtypes? Or perhaps you've even seen one in action? After
all, Murasame is busy creating all those Enhanced humans..." "That's
just Zeon propaganda!" Gina protested, "Newtypes don't really
exist... and..." "Oh
really? Well too bad, because you are looking at one of your former
specimens," Sylvie countered acidly as she turned her head towards Gina,
her eyes burning in anger, "Though I can't blame you for thinking that all
this is the work of Zeon. After all, you Titans seem to be following in their
footsteps when you gassed 30 Bunch and violated the Antarctic Treaty. If I
didn't know better, I'd say we were back in the One Week War." "Wa...
wait... 30 Bunch?" Gina stammered as she remembered another detail of what
O'Connor had told her, "Did... did it really...?" "I
was there," Sylvie continued as she started putting on the pilot suit,
"And before you start choosing sides I suggest you find out that truth of
what happened there." "And...
what is the truth?" Gina asked as she held her breath, knowing that if it
was really as terrible as that soldier had told her... Terrible enough to start
a war... "You
truly are THAT naive aren't you?" Sylvie concluded tiredly as she turned
to face Gina once again, "Well I suggest that you find out by yourself,
because until you stop believing everything you hear and start finding the
truth on your own, you will never be free. And that's the only truth that I'm
going to offer you at this time." Gina
bit her lip after that remark, before deciding to look away and finding herself
questioning herself once again. Sylvie merely ignored her and finished changing
her clothes. She'd seen Gina's type before: Impressionable, naive, and thus
easily manipulated into throwing their lives away for a "worthy"
cause. The same type she had been before her now shattered heart realized the
truth. --------------- "I'm
getting Minovsky interference," Gordon reported over the radio,
"Losing track of the enemy air formation on radar. Here they come
mam..." "Spotted
them..." Liv reported as she saw the first group of enemy aircraft, a
flight of four Sabrefish from the looks of it, "Ground control, I've
spotted four... no make that six fighters. No transports have shown up as of
yet." "Same
here," Gordon reported, "I've got a pair of Dish plus six Fly
Manthas, but no Mideas in that group either. They must be hanging out in the
rear while the bombers make a preliminary strike." "Understood,"
Jean replied as he signaled his men to get ready, "If they're coming in
piece by piece, that's just fine by me..." --------------- "Just
made it..." John muttered to himself as alarm sirens began to sound all
over the base. He had just finished loading all of the cargo onto the U-606,
now if he could only get this piece of human cargo on the 557... "Nikki, get
back to your sub. They're going to be needing you there now." "Aye
sir," Nikki replied as she ran towards the submarine, a little pleased at
having been able to spend some more time with John nonetheless. A very
disapproving Ken Mason was waiting on the conning tower. "What
took you Torecelli?" Ken demanded, annoyed that the little witch was
bothering John again, "We've been waiting for you for the past couple of
minutes. We need to leave now." "Coming
sir!" Nikki replied as she was about to step into the gangplank, before
realizing that the submarine was suddenly much higher in the water than it
should be. Her eyes went wide as she realized that a massive cloud of foam had
appeared underneath her submarine, and she only had a instant to shout out a
warning before her entire world disappeared in a blinding flash. --------------- "What
the hell?!" Jean shouted outloud as a massive explosion engulfed the dock
area, "John! Ken! What the hell is going on there?!" "Jo...
John here..." a shaken voice announced over the radio, "****! The 557
just got torpedoed! We're under attack! Get Yoko up here now!" "What
the hell?" Jean started, "John! How could that happen?! Wasn't Honour
supposed to..." "I
SAW the ****ing explosion Jean," John shotback, "It was two
torpedoes, sure as hell. I'm contacting Honour now, but from the sound of it,
he got caught napping as well. I need Yoko's Zugock to take down that enemy
submarine now or we're going to have TWO sunk AEUG submarines instead of one!" ---------------- And you
seem to have forgotten the second is probably going to be mine, Mr. Recto...
Honour thought as he guided his X-7 through a series of evasive maneuvers. The
bloody enemy U-class had appeared out of nowhere, and from what he could tell
it had brought along three of its Aqua GM friends to help out. He'd been trying
to draw their attention from the 606, but he knew that it was only a matter of
time before they sank his little Prober... "Solution
is set sir!" techie Rollins reported as he locked in the coordinates of
the enemy submarine, "Shall I fire?" "Do
it Rollins, we need to buy Captain Nagato some more time to deploy..."
Honour ordered as he barely dodged several torpedoes fired by the Aqua GMs.
Rollins immediately complied, and fired the Prober's sole torpedo at the enemy
submarine. The
enemy sub was expecting this however, and had already begun launching decoys to
fool the incoming torpedo. The Aqua GMs, ignoring the torpedo heading for their
mothership, quickly chased after the offending Prober, firing a trio of
torpedoes at the mini-submarine. Honour tried his best to evade. "We're
not going to hit her sir..." Rollins warned as their torpedo started
chasing after one of the decoys, "I have three inbound. What do we
do?!" "Run
and pray," Honour replied simply as he evaded the first enemy torpedo. A
second closed on his tail, but he quickly blew his tanks and began to rise to
the surface, causing the torpedo to pass harmlessly beneath the X-7's hull. The
third torpedo however, this one a guided one, followed the X-7, and Honour
could only pray that he could make it to the surface before the damn thing
hit... --------------- Damn...
this is bad... John thought as he struggled to pull Nikki out of the water, who
was now injured and seemingly in shock. The rest of the 557's crew seemed to
have fared worse however, and the few men he had seen floating in the water had
suffered severe burns, including skipper Ken Mason. He muttered a curse. He
should've been more careful, and because of that... "Sir
this is Sonar!" the U-606's sonar operator declared over the intercom,
"We've got her! She seems like a U-class with a silent propulsion system,
and she's got three Aqua GMs in escort. ****... I think they've just locked
onto the X-7!" Just to
confirm that report the X-7 suddenly burst through the ocean's surface, flying
several feet into the air before landing back into the ocean. An explosion
erupted just behind the tiny submarine, and John couldn't tell whether or not
Honour's little boat had been damaged by the blast. "John,
what's the situation?" Jean demanded worriedly as he kept his eyes peeled
for enemy cruise missiles that might be fired by the submarine, knowing they
might come as part of a coordinated strike, "How's Honour?" "I
think he's down..." John replied worriedly as he realized that the tiny
X-7 was listing to port, obviously having suffered a major leak of some sort,
"Where the hell is Yoko?!" "Already
in the water." --------------- "Hello
my pretties..." Yoko declared in an evil tone as she spotted the trio of
Aqua GMs, all still focusing their attention on the hapless X-7. Well, it was
now to even the odds... The
three Aqua GMs were about to fire another volley to finish off the sinking X-7
when a trio of beams struck them from behind. Two died instantly, while a third
lost an arm. The survivor tired to turn, but before it could do so Yoko had
closed on the Aqua GM, and she buried her Zugock's claws into the Aqua GM's
cockpit. She kicked the shattered wreckage away as her Zugock's mono eyes
locked onto her primary target: The enemy U-class. The
submarine's skipper had been warned about the possibility of AEUG underwater
Mobile Suits, but he had not taken the threat seriously, and he was about to
pay for it as a result. He was just about to order his crew to fire his
remaining torpedoes at the enemy MSM when a beam struck the submarine's bow,
the shot going clean through the torpedo room and blowing apart the forward
portion of the submarine. Yoko decided to come closer before trying to finish
off the enemy submarine. She only had a few shots in her beam gun, and seeing
the submarine's entrails as she tore it apart with her claws would be much,
much, more interesting... --------------- Regardless
of the little battle that was going on below the ocean, Liv was having problems
of her own. The sky around her was now clear of enemy aircraft, yet both she
and Gordon had not yet spotted even a single enemy transport. Something was
definitely amiss... "Liv,
have you spotted any enemy transports yet? You should have spotted some by
now," Jean asked as he tried to keep his voice calm, feeling almost overwhelmed
with all the battles going on all over the place. "Still
nothing sir," Liv replied patiently, "Either they took a different
path or they simply aren't coming at all. Unless..." "Unless
what?" Jean demanded. "Unless
those Mobile Suits are already on the ground..." --------------- "This
is certainly an interesting mode of attack..." Hawkins commented as his Marasai
nearly lost its balance in the rugged terrain north of the New Guinea Base.
Around him, other pilots were suffering the same problem, especially those new
members from the 23rd. "Hawkins,
not another damn lecture on what happened to your countrymen at Arnhem,
alright?" Natalie reminded in frustration, having her own difficulties
moving in the unfamiliar terrain, "I didn't have a choice." "I
know mam, please forgive me..." Hawkins replied apologetically. Though
landing so far from their target had always proven to be a disastrous
proposition, in this case Natalie simply didn't have a choice. Most of her men
had not been equipped nor trained in parachute jumping, and she was forced to
land the Mideas and their cargo on an open clearing a few miles north of the
base compound. At least, Hawkins thought, this time they had managed to land
ALL of their equipment safely, and maybe with a little bit more luck they'd
fare better than Urquhart's men... "Save
the apologies for later Hawkins..." Natalie ordered as she nervously
scanned the area around her. Something was telling her that invisible death was
coming, and the closer she got to the base, the stronger this feeling had
become... --------------- ****,
why didn't I think of that before?!" Jean thought angrily to himself.
Those were regular Federal troops, not paratroopers, and only paratroops were
crazy enough to... "Got
something sir..." a Type 74 ground sonar operator reported as he adjusted
a few more knobs on his controls, "Mobile Suits... Approximately twenty in
all, and..." "****!
This is ADV 01!" another voice shouted over the radio net, "I've
spotted those bogeys, and they're all coming in! Dozens of them! Request
permission to fire!" "This
is Major Anderson, I've spotted them too," the Major reported in a calmer
tone, "All forces, concentrate on taking down those planes first. Fire at
will!" The
weapons officer on ADV 01 barely nodded in acknowledgement as he went to work,
aiming the modified Hovertruck's turret at the closest group of enemy bombers.
Based on the Russian Army's Tunguska air defense vehicles fielded during the
1990s, the Hover ADV was perhaps the deadliest anti-air platform ever
developed, being armed with a pair of 30mm vulcan cannons as well as a quartet
of SAM launchers for both long and short ranged air defense. Unfortunately, the
entire force only had three of these ADVs. There were nearly thirty Federal
planes coming in. Jean
took careful aim at the lead Fly Mantha, but before he could fire a missile
from one of the ADVs blotted it out of the sky. Four more fell in the next ten
seconds, until the ADVs switched to their gun systems as they reloaded their
SAM launchers. A massive wall of gun and beam fire greeted the Federal
fighters, and soon more and more planes began dropping from the sky. The bandit
count quickly dropped from thirty to twenty, then down to fifteen, but the
Federal pilots gallantly pressed on their attacks, ignoring their severe
losses, and began firing back at the AEUG troops with their cannons. One of the
Type 82s got caught in a well-aimed strafing run and exploded, while a GM II
took a hit in the mono sensor and was temporarily forced out of the battle. But
the fire from the AEUG troops was still too intense, and it only seemed a
matter of time before the Federal planes were exterminated. That is, until
their own Mobile Suits arrived. Jean
was surprised when he suddenly saw a line of Federal GM IIs appearing out of
the jungle, much faster than he had anticipated, and he tried to shout out a
warning to the rest of his command. He was too late, as a volley of beams tore
through the AEUG ranks, exploding another Type 82 and damaging one of his GM
IIs. Jean belatedly ordered his men to aim at the enemy Mobile Suits, thankful
that the enemy's accuracy had been so poor, but by then the Fly Manthas had
come close enough to start dropping their loads, and confusion quickly ensued
in the AEUG lines as death fell from above. --------------- "The
enemy line is in confusion!" one of 23rd's platoon leaders reported over
the Titans radio net, "Our surviving air assets are now breaking
off!" "Hawkins?"
Natalie asked as she turned to her XO. "Artillery
batteries are ready mam," Hawkins reported, "And Ivan has scouted out
their flanks as you ordered. Both their flanks seem to be a lot weaker than we
expected." "Good,"
Natalie replied with a nod, though still having that uneasy feeling she had
felt earlier, "Order the 23rd to advance on the enemy line, and have the
artillery covering their every move. Hawkins, take half of the 16th and roll up
their right flank. The rest of you, follow me and we'll take their left. We're
going to surround these *******s ladies and gentlemen, and we're going to make
sure none of them get away..." --------------- Damn!
Jean thought as he surveyed the carnage all around him. Several more of the
Type 82s had been blown apart by the Fly Manthas, as well as one of his
precious GM IIs, while the rest of the survivors were all badly shaken by the
exploding bombs. His team was off-balance now, and unless he could regain the
initiative... "Jean,
remind me not to leave you alone ever again," Yoko declared as her Zugock
appeared and joined the thinned AEUG line, easily dodging a few beams fired in
her direction, "What the hell's been happening around here?!" "And
what the hell took you so damn long?!" Jean shouted back, "I thought
there was only one enemy sub out there, shouldn't you have..." "Later
Jean, save it for the debriefing..." Yoko replied, not wanting to tell
Jean on how she had a little "fun" with the doomed crew of that enemy
submarine, "We have to stabilize the front. We'd better get the Major
to..." "Here
they come!" the Major suddenly warned as the whole Federal line began to
advance, "Open fire!" "****..."
Yoko muttered as she turned her attention back to the incoming GM IIs, aiming
her beam gun at the lead GM II's cockpit as she tried to ignore the artillery
shells that were now falling all around her. Before she could fire however, a
beam lanced right through one of the GM II's legs, quickly toppling the Mobile
Suit to the ground as the pilot lost balance. Yoko found herself grinning as
she realized who it was. "Unless
your conscience can handle the thought of killing Federal trainees, I suggest
you aim at those GM's legs to disable them. Because from the looks of it those
kids still aren't used to gravity," a voice "suggested" as
another exquisitely aimed shot disabled a second GM II, "And will somebody
start counter-batterying their artillery? They should have a couple of Guntank
IIs a mile or two behind the frontline, and they have to be taken out
quickly." "What
the hell are YOU doing out here?!" Jean asked angrily as he realized who
it was, followed by a dozen voices asking the same question, but the voice
merely ignored them and fired a third shot, disabling a third GM II. "Welcome
to the party Subject V, and nice to see you finally come around," Yoko
added in an evil tone, "And I see you're still trying to save everybody as
ever." "Don't
start with me and just get back to fighting Captain Nagato," Sylvie
replied tiredly as she started heading for another firing position, "My
actions are none of your concern." "But
they certainly are mine Sylvie!" Jean shouted angrily in reply, noticing
some of the former Zeon soldiers were now motioning threateningly at Sylvie's
Barzam, "You can't just barge in here and start ordering people around!
There are..." "Whatever,"
Sylvie interrupted coldly, as she fired a fourth shot that disabled yet another
GM II, "That's almost half of those GM IIs now Jean, your boys still
haven't even gotten one. Just tell me that you really want me to stop." "Jean,
save the legal matters for later," Anderson ordered as he checked on his
artillery crews, who were now targeting those enemy Guntanks. He found himself
being thankful to Sylvie for stabilizing the situation, "We'll discuss the
status of Sylvie later. For now she's proving herself to be on our side." "I
won't serve with this psychopath!" Yun declared defiantly as he heard the
Major's remark, "We can't just let her..." "Then
perhaps you would prefer to die, child," Sylvie admonished as she fired a
fifth shot, taking down a GM II that was aiming its weapon at Yun, "My job
would be easier if I didn't have to baby-sit children like you." "You..."
Yun started shakily. "Major,
you might also want to check your flanks," Sylvie suggested, not even
bothering to listen to what Yun had to say, "There are probably more of
these Titans lurking around, and I think they might try to hit us on both flanks and
try to surround us. At least, that's what I would do." "Yun,
take Erich and strengthen our right," Anderson ordered, quickly deciding
to take Sylvie's advice, "Yoko, check up on the left." "No
problem sir," Yoko responded with a grin, "And I told you she would
be worth it." "Yoko!"
Yun started once again, "You can't just let her...!" "Yu...
Yun sir, let's just go?" Erich suggested nervously as he began moving as
ordered, "Please sir?" "But..."
Yun started again. "Fine,
once this battle is done go ahead and kill me. I won't resist," Sylvie
promised the still defiant Yun, "I'm not afraid of death anymore. What
about you?" "Yun,
just get moving!" Jean ordered as he saw the tension between he two start
heating up yet again. Damn Sylvie for doing that to Ming. Damn Ming for killing
Max and doing this to Sylvie. And damn Yun for being as pig headed as both of
them! "Erich already has a head start on you!" "Fine,
but I'll get you..." Yun promised as he quickly followed his wingman.
Erich looked back at him with a disapproving look on his face, but Yun ignored
him. One way or another, he was going to get that Subject V... --------------- Something
was definitely going wrong... Natalie thought to herself as she finished
hearing the scattered reports from the 23rd. The initial attack had been
suddenly stopped cold by a lone sniper, who had disabled half of the attacking
GM IIs and forced the rest to fall back. And that was now definitely bothering
her. The enemy sniper's style seemed to be familiar... in fact very familiar to
her... Because it was something that she had counted on in many battles during
the past four years... "Hawkins,
what's happening down your end?" Natalie inquired, wanting to ignore the
nagging feeling now creeping up her spine, and telling herself that it was just
not possible. She was already dead, all the reports had said so, and she
wouldn't have joined them... Unless that Wilkins had done something so horrible
that... "We've
begun to engage the enemy," Hawkins reported over the radio, "And
there are far more of them than we thought. They have at least two Mobile
Suits, and my team is currently pinned down. But thankfully, it seems that
sniper hasn't shown up here yet, so he... or she still be occupied with pinning
down the 23rd." So he
noticed it too? Natalie thought as she swallowed hard. Damn it... what do I do?
What if I DO meet her? And what would she do if she realized it was me? Is it
really her anyway? Or did they do something to her that so that she was no
longer the person that had been her dearest friend? Get a
hold of yourself Natalie... it probably isn't her... Natalie told herself as
she realized the distracting thoughts were getting the better of her. She said
she was trained by that Max, and he probably could've trained others. Yes. That
was probably it. And with all the people defecting to AEUG... "Ivan, how
much farther are the AEUG lines?" Natalie asked. "Close
mam..." Ivan responded as he worriedly scanned the are around him, wary of
that enemy sniper, "And mam, I think we'd better..." "I
know Captain, order the men to keep their heads down," Natalie ordered.
Whoever you are you sniper... I'm not about to let you kill everybody in my
command... --------------- "My,
my Sylvie... aren't your powers ever so useful?" Yoko observed as she
spotted a trio of Marasais, all of them trying to flank them as Sylvie had
predicted. Yun and Erich had already pinned down another group on their right,
but this particular group would be all hers, and as luck would have it, all
three were Titans. She would relish the chance of making their deaths extremely
slow, gruesome, and painful, especially the one in the middle that seemed to be
their commander. A horrible death was the only death fit for one of those
Titans *******s, and the most horrible ones she reserved only for their
commanders... --------------- Notice: This fic and all its contents are copyrighted by
